Announcing Ciarán Strange as Guest of Honor
Posted September 24, 2025
Ciarán Strange is an award-winning transgender voice actor most known for his androgynous vocal fry and high-octane emotional performances—from comedic hilarity to the ugliest of heartbreaks. His capacity to embody a wide scope of gendered roles, coupled with his signature party trick of effortlessly flipping between his natural English and learned standard American accents, have kept his career full of surprises.
Since his accidental voice acting debut as “Lorelei” in Borderlands 3, Ciarán has had the joy and honour of helping bring multiple characters to life in English, including Pairin in The Apothecary Diaries, McMillan in Black Butler, Louis de Sade in The Case Study of Vanitas, Kousuke Misaki in Tomo-chan Is A Girl!, Luca Esposito in ASTRA: Lost In Space, Y? Bauer in I’m In Love With The Villainess, Mithril Lid Pod in Sugar Apple Fairy Tale, both Sawyer and Hazel in the Monster Prom series, and younger Denji in Chainsaw Man. He’s also played the titular leads in AOASHI, Requiem of the Rose King, The Unaware Atelier Meister, and Evelogia’s World (18+).
Always aching to create and perform, Strange made the choice to leave his family, friends, and poky fishing village behind in his late teens—in order to chase his dreams across the Atlantic. From 2009–20, he toured the US, UK, Canada, and Japan, performing his own original pop-punk-rock music (plus covers and parodies) at hundreds of shows, conventions, festivals, and Pride celebrations.
Ciarán has also been an avid writer since he was old enough to hold a pencil. Married to a bestselling romance author, he has finally decided to allow himself the joy of expression via storytelling again under various pen names. In summer 2025, he relaunched his debut novel—an M/M urban sci-fi thriller named Black Tie—with its long-awaited sequel Red Tape releasing this coming winter!
