Ha, god, I have several hundred dollars worth of Sailor Moon stuff. It sounds like a lot, but it's mostly packed into one wardrobe drawer.

Hi, I'm lychee-twist, and I've been in to Sailor Moon since it first played on TNT. First episode I ever watched was when Zoisite was trying to gather the seven rainbow crystals and had attacked a priest. I vividly remember watching the priest transform into a boxing vulture and fight Sailor Jupiter.

I said I hated it. One word: Denial. It was awesome, and I was ragingly obsessed with it from ages 10-14, and a much more cerebral super fan from 14-17. Not so ragingly obsessed anymore, but I'll always be a fan.

I'm bummed I can't go to Sakuracon this year. I rarely give a rip about voice actors, but seeing Kotono Mitsuishi would he very, very cool. She married the author of YuYu Hakusho for those of you who don't know. She's really one of the most influential voice actors in Japan from what I can tell.

I already bought Sailor V's comics. I've got the first one in French and the last two in Japanese. Haha! I know what happens! I'm still going to buy them in English :)

Flower In Furs, do you have a picture of your tattoo? I'd like to see it. Vampire, get those drawings posted if you do them!

No wigs are the best way to go, if possible!  I wouldn't worry about the size thing, though.

Don't feel like a derp lychee, I only knew it because it mentions it in Yoshihiro Togashi (author of YYH)'s bio at the beginning of each volume, and I reread YYH obsessively. Beyond that and knowing that Masashi and Seishi Kishimoto are twins, I know nothing about any mangaka or seiyu.

More on topic, does anyone have know of any tutorials for making a leotard? Because I've pretty much figured out how I'm going to make my Uranus costume for Kumoricon, but my usual sewing approach of 'wing it and alter it if it's too big' probably wouldn't work so well on something that's supposed to be pretty form-fitting.

DUDE. Got you covered. Use the figure skating pattern from a company called Green Pepper. You can buy it at most JoAnn's stores. That's where I got mine. I used a real thin, neoprene scuba like material for my Super Sailor Moon cosplay, and it worked great. The patterns got a V-shaped cut already and everything. I can post a small tutorial on how I did the hip-rolls. It's a little weird, but the results weren't bad and it's pretty structurally sound.

Green Pepper patterns are also super cheap ($8 for the figure skating pattern!). They never go on sale so use a coupon. It's also a company that's based out of Eugene, OR :3 I love that.

Here's the one I used: http://www.thegreenpepper.com/downloads/517web.pdf

^ I approve of that.

Ok. I'll make a tutorial of how I did the hip rolls. It might take me a bit to get it up since I'm finishing up two commissions this month, but I'll get it up.

Due Date for the tutorials: April 9th.

Yell at me if I don't get it up. You know where to find me ;)

Cool, thanks. I've been compiling a list of tutorials to use for this cosplay because she's one of my childhood favorites and I want to do her justice, so I'm trying to get every detail as good as possible. I looked at your dA, your hip rolls looked really good.

Thanks! The hardest part was just sealing them up. You'll need something to shove stuffing in them, too. I'll get into all of that in the tutorial.

While I'm thinking about it, I also highly suggest buying dancers tights. One they're just a bit of warmth, two: they're great for being more modest just in case your miniskirt flies up, three: They really make your legs look even and not mottled like naked skin tends to. My tights hid any bruise, mole, or scar. I'm really happy I bought them. It's like coverup for your legs.

I'm definitely going to buy tights. My skin has this annoying inability to be one consistent color, plus I've got one really obvious scar on my knee and several less obvious ones on my shins (biking accidents, yo).

That's rather sad that people would give you nasty looks about the roses. Maybe they were just confused and were born with what I just found out is called "b***h face". It's where you look rather snooty, but you really aren't.

I was going to be Nephrite, but since that looks like it's going to fall through, I'm probably going to go with my backup plan of Sailor Jupiter.
Sakuracon 2014
Kyoko Sakura - Puella Magi Madoka Magica
Yugito Nii - Naruto Shippuden
Sailor Jupiter - Sailor Moon

Kumoricon
God Tier Jane Crocker - Homestuck
Sailor Jupiter - Sailor Moon
Kyoko Sakura - Puella Magi Madoka Magica
Komachi Onozuka - Touhou

>w< One of these day's I'd really love to do a Zoisite cosplay.

My fiancee wants to know if you're doing the Japanese male version or American female version.
My cosplay plans for 2022 (thus far): Vanir from Konosuba
My son's plans this year (thus far): Penguin Chiyo-chan from Azumanga Daioh
