seen all but the musicals and own seasons 1-5 of the anime.

Um, could I borrow season 3 from you some time?  If I'm going to be Sailor Neptune, I'd like to see what she's like.  (And hulu fails!)

I would so say yes but I'm guessing we live kinda far away lol

SuperS was also my favorite season. It seems to be the least liked out of all of them on a broad spectrum.
Really? I loved it, It's the cutest!

I live in Vancouver, WA.  If you live in the Portland area, I can meet you somewhere, preferably in the downtown area.

Hmm... favorite season >< *thinks*

Stars- although near the end I get verrrryyy pissed at the changes they made with the whole cosmos/galaxia/star seed storyline from the original manga story.

Followed by.... R/S (Demando and the Outers!!!!)
Then.... Super S.... then the first season (mainly because I've seen it SO much more than the others)

I never had the honor of watching Sailor Stars as much as I can recall or got the chance to see any of the musicals. But I had endured the dubbed version that always came on at 4:00 (I chose it more often than Pokemon on WB), and I'm glad to have rescued the original subbed movies from my local Goodwill. I was the only one I knew of at the time to want to collect and play the Sailor Moon CCG. I searched long and hard until I came across the Sailor Moon RPG at Powells downtown.

As one of the first anime to pierce my heart, take my hand, and lure me in to find other favorites, Sailor Moon is by far one of my most treasured anime and manga.

Like in all other nerdy fields I participate in, I have only what small and dedicated collection I can afford.
But my passion for the series sill makes me a nerd darn it! Otherwise I wouldn't be making such an epic oratory shpeal about it.  :)

I know this is a silly question, but this has been bugging me for years:

Has anyone else ever done a double-take when hearing PGSM Sailor Moon say "Sailor Venus"?

AFAIK there is no "v" sound in Japanese or even a good approximation, since the "f" sound is produced without using the teeth. (The "h", "f", "b", and "p" sounds are differentiated by how tightly you purse your lips.) The result of a Japanese speaker trying to approximate "v" may sound more like a "b" or a "p", and Sawai Miyuu (the actress playing Sailor Moon in PGSM) sometimes seems to have more trouble with it than the average person.
This is my serious voice. Otherwise, I'm just another anime fan, not a moderator.

I didn't listen to it that hard. I knew it didn't sound like how we say "Venus" cause I knew there was no V sound, so I just took it as Venus with an accent.

HA! I totally ship Seiya/Usagi (now at least - when I was little I was all about Mamoru, but nowadays he kind of annoys me) but that's hilarious.

Edit: I just now noticed Chibiusa fading out (I know, oblivious much?)...that makes it even funnier.

Oh, golly, I know what you mean. I tried to watch an episode of the dub a littlw while back, for nostalgia's sake - I loved it when I was little - and I lasted about 2 minutes. The voices were so awful, it was actually painful to listen to.

I have huge nostalgia for the English voice actors so I don't mind so much. It's the writing and editing that get to me. Oh, 4Kids. You ruin everything.

Lita's voice I hear everywhere. That's kind of annoying, but the worst is when Sailor Moon R had a new voice actor for Raye, and in Sailor Moon S, that voice actor played Mina. Amy and Serena's Sailor Moon S voice actors, they tried so hard, but it just... no. No it was awful. Thank god they found who they did for Haruka because her S movie voice was just so not her.

I don't get picky about anime, but when I do, I prefer Sailor Moon. Stay fangirling, my friends.

You might like this news: Busted.

To me, the only sad part is that it appears TV Tokyo is upset with Funimation for having some involvement in the issue. Well... that, and THR's apparent lack of editors (as evidenced by the title of the article) also makes me sad.

Oh, and the loss of comic fodder. It'll be years before some budding Macek disciple pulls another "jelly donuts" on us.

Mm, none of the seasons seem "out of place" to me, they all served their purpose in the story that is Sailor Moon.

I think S might just seem a bit weird cause I seem to remember a long wait between S and R- season 1 and 2 were both by Dic (in America) and seemed connected by animation style, and the story line didn't change much- everything was about Silver Millennium still, except about what it will become of in the future, when Serenity marries Endymion- so it tied in with the story of season one- them finding out their pasts-

whereas season 3 went up in animation (thanks to higher budget and progress in animation) changed hands to another company, and all of a sudden you have an enemy not tied to their past. Even in season 4 (though it's MUCH more apparent in the manga) the enemy is tied to the Silver Millennium's Moon Kingdom of the past when Usagi was Princess Serenity. And then season 5 still connects to Crystal Tokyo in a way and the past because it's about the Sailor Wars (again much more apparent in the manga) and how Chaos basically lusts for Serenity's pure heart

O.o so it's like.... season 1- past   season 2- future   season 3- aliens   season 4-past  season 5- future
Though the manga version of S is tied to the past Moon Kingdom through the Outer Senshi, but yeah... not so much in the anime at all.

I will agree that the manga definitely tied all the story arcs together better than the anime. ;3; They both have their pros and cons I suppose. (I'm so super stoked for the manga reprint guys, you don't even KNOW! )

Oh! That reminds me. ;w; Amazon is giving a 33% discount if you pre-order the first volumes of Sailor Moon and Sailor V. For anyone interested!

And! Speaking of Amazon.....>w> That was one thing I absolutely LOVED about SuperS. The Amazon Trio really grew on me. XD I didn't like them at first but after a while.....*w* I love them.

Ahah, I love the AMazon Trio, but the musicals are what made me fall for them~ *Hikari Ono as Hawks Eye!!!!!* They're just so ridiculous in the musicals, it's awesome~ Tigers Eye is freaking hilarious, my fave in the musicals. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3cNhIz_870Q

Anyone who's seen the musicals have a favorite musical, number, or era?
Personally, I like Marina-Moon's Stage 4 musicals over the rest~ I think the musical numbers and story lines are a lot better than the others. Then I'd have to say I like Miyuki-Moon, Anza-Moon, than Fumina-Moon's era. The very beginning of the musicals is horrible- the wigs, costumes, and I'm glad they got rid of Luna and Artemis. My favorite musical is Marina-Moon's first, and the first time they did a Black Moon musical "tanjou ankoku no princess black lady". Favorite musical number would have to be "Kekki Hangyaku no Ichizoku" sung by Demando and the Black Moon Family. It just suits them, their thoughts, and situation perfectly!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0kOeO1kkOyY (at 6:30 to ) D< lame youtube.... this was the only copy I could find with English subs from the original Black lady musical and not the Kaiteiban.

The same musical they got Mao to play Black Lady- she played Chibi-Usa when she was a child, and her performance was just strikingly scary.... @-@ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lx2s7ElvszI

is it bad if all of the crossplays i wanna do (except one) is from sailor moon..... and look like girls......

No, I don't think so, at least when you consider how many of them there are and how well they were portrayed as such.
My cosplay plans for 2022 (thus far): Vanir from Konosuba
My son's plans this year (thus far): Penguin Chiyo-chan from Azumanga Daioh

I LOVE THOSE GUYS!!! And yes they were great in the musicals, God I love Hikari Ono! She's on of my idols in the preforming arts world.

I haven't seen that many musicals, since it takes awhile to watch just one musical. Although the Black Lady one is one of my faves, everyone was so good in it
Some of my favorite Numbers were:
"Kekki Hangyaku no Ichizoku"
"Broken MOBIUS"
"Sailor War Supreme"
"Sailor Busters" (because it's so catchy)
and "Moonlight Justice" (Because it's so cheesy)

That reminds me of another SM comic strip but I can't find the website with them!! ><

Does anyone know it? It's not this one.... http://moonsticks.org/comic-strip/
but the webpage was like, black with links made up of the titles of the comic names
A bunch of them were about different ways Chibi Chibi stole cookies from a cookie jar despite how Usagi tried to hide/move the jar. The Haruka/Michiru one I am remembering is Michiru is in a company studio talking to a rep. with Haruka standing near her listening. Haruka sweat drops and asks Michiru, "cousins?" and the rep walks away and Michiru exclaims, "I had to do something about us!"
