What is Kumoricon?
Labor Day Weekend 2008, join thousands of fellow otaku at the Portland Doubletree – Lloyd Center for another year of anime fun!
Here at Kumoricon we strive to provide you with an open and friendly environment in which to learn, share, and come away with life-long memories. One of the best parts of attending a convention is the community that surrounds you, a place where everyone else understands that Cowboy Bebop changed your life and a good manga can be just as deep and well written as that “classic” your teacher keeps pushing at you.
This year you can hang out with your fellow cosplayers or karaoke the night away. For the adventurous single otaku we’ve got some speed dating coming up. And parents, don’t fret, there are panels for you and a children’s room for the under twelve crowd! Creative attendees can also find a lot to do in the Creation Station and we’ll have lots of great contests, like the AMV contest, for you to show off your talents.
If you’re concerned you might come away without having a chance to spend all your money, look no further than the Dealers Room and Artists Alley. Here you’ll find all those items you thought about buying on ebay, as well as one-of-a-kind piece of art to fulfill your inner fantasies (Naruto in a bikini, anyone?). Though don’t forget to visit the bank before you arrive, as convention ATMs are notorious for breaking down and running out of money Saturday afternoon!
Kumoricon 2008 will be held on the Labor Day weekend of August 30th through September 1st at the Portland Doubletree – Lloyd Center.
