Hello!
Looking for other cosplayers who would like to do my little pony friendship is magic cosplay group!
I will be making Rainbow Dash and wanted to know if there will be anyone else fromt he group and would like to arrange a photoshoot too!

My friends and I plan to do MLP cosplays this year! We're doing ginjikas that my friend is designing most likely. We'll have a rainbow dash, pinkie pie, Rarity and Flutter shy.

That's the plan so far, at least! Can't wait to see cosplays for MLP!

Literally my first thought when I saw this thread was, "I'mma go in there and warn them that any Rainbow Dash cosplayers are gonna be on the receiving end of a serious tackle hug." (Kidding, of course.. I wouldn't really do that.)

I'm not going to be cosplaying from Ponies for Kumoricon, but I have a group of all 6 for Akicon if anyone is planning on wearing stuff there. I'm thinking about planning a gathering there possibly~ So people should lemme know :>

Also I'll be taking pictures of any Ponies I see at con~

Ok, i know this has nothing to do with cosplay, but what's with the sudden intrest in My little pony lately? It's not just on the forums, but everyone i know on DeviantART is going nuts over it too.
Not trying to bring down MLP or anything xD I'm just curious as to why everyone likes it so much now considering it's just that it's been out sense like...late 80's.

Forgive me for suddenly posting, but as a Bronie, I feel the need to answer Saki's question. The sudden interest in My Little Pony is not actually an interest in My Little Pony persay, but in the recently released cartoon show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. The show is written primarily by Lauren Faust, who worked with famous animator Craig McCracken on both Powerpuff Girls and Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends, and was even the basis for the character of Frankie from FHFIF. In summary, she's amazing, which shows in MLP:FIM. The animation is incredibly well-done and the writing is really good. The show rather surprisingly is a cartoon embracing what many people enjoyed in old cartoons of the late 90's and early 00's. Not to mention Faust takes ideas for the show from both her Deviantart account and sometimes even 4Chan, which actually spawned a canon character by the name of Ditzy Doo. (Referred to as Derpy Hooves by fans on account of her misaligned eyes.) In short, it's the cartoon's fault.

Anyway, I won't be doing any Pony cosplaying being that I'm a guy and there are practically zero in the show aside from the dragon whom's name escapes me. However, if I see any of you, prepare to be photographed.

At least from what I've seen and heard of the show so far, it seems like Spike (the dragon) is dangerously close to Scrappydom.

Totally second this! If Brolita can look fabulous, so can you! If you need someone to come up with a cross play outfit, you've got bunches of people (including myself) that would totally draw out a genderbend of your character.

Attention all pony cosplayers! I've had a problem with where I should plan to put my cutie mark. I've seen it everywhere: Face cheek, butt cheek, lower back, upper arm, chest, hip, etc. Where should it go? :O

I would consider which character you're doing for the placement of the cutie mark if you're not going in a group. Applejack's cutie mark would look cute if it was on short, rolled overalls and on the front thigh, but I think someone like Vanity could do well with her mark as an embellishment on the small of her back, especially if her top was open backed.

oh wow this has gotten a lot of replies, i forgot that kumori doesn't email me replies, so i haven't been able to read all of them!
but now i'm sooo super excited to go to kumori cuz of all the love for the new mlp fim!!!
i'll be doing rainbow dash and since i was too picky with the wig i have to make one myself so i don't have money to make the grand galloping gala dress i was going to make, i'll be doing a casual street clothes one, and might make a sundress too and then maybe for akicon or sakura con i will make the fancy dress!
i can't wait to take pictures of everyone and have some fun photoshoots too!

i know how that is, i've spent all the money i could one making the wig so i'll be casual street clothes rainbow dash. to me that blonde wig seems a little too light. i think of her hair as a yellow blonde.

YEAHZ! there was another show made awhile back with the g3 mlps but it was painful to watch since it was really geared to really yound kids (like 7 and under).
so i'm glad there is something like this for teens/adults!

i understand about the no money part, i'm in the same boat, well expect that i spent all my money on the wig...so i just dyed some value village jeans and found some light blue clothing at the thirft stores and just going to be a casual rainbow dash....for sakura con i should have enough to make her Best Night Ever dress
