Tofu/Kinky: what's the makeup you're looking at? Sometimes you can get the theatricals in larger sizes by going through a supplier. And fair warning, even the "only comes off with soap and water" stuff will still come off with abrasion, so expect to get it on the edges of your clothing and stuff; I think alcohol-activated makeup is the only one that's truly rub-resistant and that stuff's expensive as all get-out and a pain in the bum to get off.
Folks I know who did grey Noah (my brother and a friend this year at Kcon) used, I believe, one of the creme makeups and a powder set over it, followed by a spray sealer. It stays pretty well, but even that comes off a little with rubbing.

For what it's worth.

... my poor Lero is hanging upside-down off my bookcase looking at me. Oh, I miss having an excuse to carry him.

we're trying to get gray makeup for playing JasDebi. we can't seem to find the good stuff that won't run for cheap. I think I'm fine with a little rubbing as long as it looks nice and stays on for the most part. it's going to go on our faces, necks, and hands. possibly our arms as well if we can't get a nylon shirt of some sort.

@Tofu: I gathered. :3 I just wasn't sure if there was a particular brand you were looking at -- in my experience, creme stuff seems to hold better and be more opaque than liquids.

@tofu: costume shops (if you're lucky enough to have one) or theatrical supply stores would be the only ones I know of. I buy mine locally at a dance supply store, but since I'm in southern California, that won't help you any. ;P

(Kameko, I promise you a Lero-photo later. I don't think I ever got any of version 2, so I should take some anyway.)

hmm you think I might be able to get some through the theater department at school? it's worth a shot. XD I've heard a couple people talking about costume shops in the area and I've seen one in the Portland area before with a pink elephant on its roof so I might try there as well. thanks. :3

Speaking of Maria, my mask is almost done. Soon as it is I'll attach it to the top and get a few more flowers sewn on so I can take a decent picture.

hey sam I figured out we don't have to use body paint. acrylic craft paint works really well on skin. I tested it, its non toxic.

Acrylic, as soon as it dries, will flake off of you where you make the most movement or where things rub against you. So the corset pants strings will rub it off, it'll come off on your finger joints, around the mouth, at the wrist, at the elbow and at the edge of the pants.

Just a forewarning. I've painted myself up with the stuff before. It also hurts like a mofo to get it off if it isn't rubbed off.

Thanks for the warning though. I have a bottle of acrylic paint and it says something on the back about not useing it on human skin cause it clogs all the pores and aparently can suffocate joo....idk O-o

Whatever we get I need to save some for next year so I can be Tyki Mikk’s Arrancar form. 8D

I would think it'd be bad on your face because of the oil and what not that your face produces... It's almost a guarantee to make your face red, raw and/or break out.

I just need string for the pants. I decided sewing on individual little strips was a pain so I ripped them all off in massive anger. lol

I need the headband from you and paypal is pissing me off. >_<

But I found out that listening to the repo soundtrack really gets me working on cosplays. that is if I have the material. I press play and magically I get done with what I'm doing efficently and quickly. :3

Well the string I've been talking about is actual string and if you wear it around your legs and stuff....it can actually carve a nice chunck off your legs. I have a thread type stuff you can use even though it cost....alot. O.e But I'll have to buy another sence I only bought one roll.

Well I havent started on the new one I have alot to do school wise and not that much time to do anything cosplay related.

Then....well listen to my repo CD and work on cosplays XD

Uh I think like $5 for just a yard. But string will cut into your skin. It might be cheap but come-on. xD I'll let you use mine depending what type of pants your useing. It's black and everything so you should be fine.
