you should talk to uwajimayas to see if theyll be willing to cough up something. maybe even talk to con staff about seeing what they have to offer. oh! and see if that anime shop in Bend would be able to contribute. Perhaps set up some shiny gift baskets as well. just as a suggestion.

Hmmm, there are a few DVDs I'd love to get rid off, but they've already been opened. Would they still be worth something? I have some manga in fairly good condition as well. And a Sesshomaru clock I'd be more than happy to get rid of along with a small KHR alarm clock xD

Please do. It just sits next to my Hindu god posters for no apparent reason other than to remind me of my childhood obsession with Inuyasha.

I also have a Junjou Romantica notepad. The packaging has been opened, but I have not used any of the paper itself.

It'd be really fun to have a circus act going on. Sorta like a hired clown for a kid's b-day party! And we could even kidnap Ceil and dress him up XD

Hey guys,

Sorry to rain on your parade, but tea parties are very hard to do at con. You can't bring in your own food and tea - per contract, only the hotel can provide food in event space. And the cost for them to cater is very high, not something I can cover out of my panel budget. The tea parties we have had in the past have had an admission to cover the catering, and even then you only got a cup of tea and maybe a cookie.. not a lot.

For the auction - love the idea, but you need to run that past the Director of Relations, since our auction is under her.

Auctioning off people - that is a very iffy area, and unless you can convince me and a few other people that it's a brilliant idea, it will most likely be a 'no'.

18+ events - that would have to be a separate panel.. it's complicated to kick people out halfway through an event (have you been to the dances?

)

Dance in a panel - that's a logistical problem, they are two completely different setups and take some time. If you are set on hosting a dance, make a proposal for the formal dance.. I have a couple other groups that are interested in hosting, so I am going to be setting a date for people to tell me their ideas. Best one hosts.

It sounds like you've got a lot of great ideas, but maybe we should talk a bit about what is feasible and what is not. I'd hate for you to get ahead in your planning, only to have to tell you that you can't do it. You can email me at programming@kumoricon.org, or come to one of our general meetings and we can talk about it.

This is just an idea, but perhaps insted of 'auctioning off people', there could be games and the winners would win dances with the hosts. I soppose that way it would be a bit more....friendly and harmless? (i'm not sure if those are the right words, but i can kind of see now how 'buying' people could go wrong..)
