This is an idea myself and my girlfriend came up with. Having a Kuroshitsuji-themed tea-party esque panel. We aren't sure really where it's going yet, so are looking for suggestions oh how to go about it. n.n Tell us if you wanna come, who as, suggestions for what we should do, etc.!

That would be really great, sandro. I want to make a lot of tea snackies, and get a big ol' cake made. And tea would definately help. I have a really tiny porcelain tea set (the cups are pretty much shot glasses xD) for Ciel. As for heating water... getting one of those big, Starbucks esque things? And maybe try to get our hands on some actual tea pots/kettles, and have some pre-brewed tea. So, people can get their own tea, but the ones in the kettles, etc. are served by Sebby, Ciel, Grell, etc.?

Any idea for more things to do? Or things specifically for the 18+ panel?
Like... maybe the Kuro Dare game should be 18+. That can get out of hand... really fast xD

The auction should stay in the underage one I think, though. Then we get more people.

And what kind of things should we auction? I plan to donate all of it to Kumo or Kumo's Charity auction. Should we only accept items for it? Etc... -is a-plannin'-

This sounds very great as a panel I will attend this for sure. I like how you guys doing a charity and auction a dance with a character. It reminds me of when people auction dates with a person. This panel sound very high class and cake!! If you would like I would not mind donating some cash so you could buy cake for your panel.

Underage: Tea (snacks, cake, w/e), maybe the first episode of Kuro?, Q&A panel, Auction, dance (starting with the auction winners)... games? -doesn't know xD-

18+: Kuro Dare game (dare the hosts to do things... like Ciel kiss Sebby n.n)... and more games?

I'm having a harder time thinking of things for that one. Suggestions?

I just had a thought. Some auction pieces could be things made. Like I can make mini-plushies, maybe some t-shirts... and Ciel eyepatches, things like that. Maybe I could ask a few people I know who are vendors if they would be willing to donate anything Kuro-related.

And one more thing! Any skit-like things people want to see? I was thinking of having skits throughout both panels, that SEEM spontaneous, but are really planned. xD For instance, Ciel is serving tea, gets tapped on the shoulder by Sebastian, who then demands his "payment" (Ciel's soul)... Ciel agrees, but Sebby surprises him by giving Ciel a kiss and walking off.

And maybe, during one of them, Ciel (me xD;; sneaks out and changes into dress/girl Ciel, maybe during a ball dance bit? And a somewhat more comical reenactment of the Run From Lizzy! part of the dance... or something xDD;;;

Two friends of mine might be filling the host roles of Alois and Hannah, and the Hannah goes to a big church. I can ask her. Maybe before I send in the event form, I'll contact the Kumo staff about things like donations, the auction, and tea water.

I am liking the idea of two kinds of tea more and more: tea/water/something for anyone to get, and tea served from actual tea kettles by the host Kuros. n.n;;;

Hey guys,

Sorry to rain on your parade, but tea parties are very hard to do at con.  You can't bring in your own food and tea - per contract, only the hotel can provide food in event space.  And the cost for them to cater is very high, not something I can cover out of my panel budget.  The tea parties we have had in the past have had an admission to cover the catering, and even then you only got a cup of tea and maybe a cookie.. not a lot.

For the auction - love the idea, but you need to run that past the Director of Relations, since our auction is under her.

Auctioning off people - that is a very iffy area, and unless you can convince me and a few other people that it's a brilliant idea, it will most likely be a 'no'.

18+ events - that would have to be a separate panel.. it's complicated to kick people out halfway through an event (have you been to the dances? )

Dance in a panel - that's a logistical problem, they are two completely different setups and take some time.  If you are set on hosting a dance, make a proposal for the formal dance.. I have a couple other groups that are interested in hosting, so I am going to be setting a date for people to tell me their ideas.  Best one hosts.

It sounds like you've got a lot of great ideas, but maybe we should talk a bit about what is feasible and what is not.  I'd hate for you to get ahead in your planning, only to have to tell you that you can't do it.  You can email me at programming@kumoricon.org, or come to one of our general meetings and we can talk about it.

This is just an idea, but perhaps insted of 'auctioning off people', there could be games and the winners would win dances with the hosts. I soppose that way it would be a bit more....friendly and harmless? (i'm not sure if those are the right words, but i can kind of see now how 'buying' people could go wrong..)

I appreciate your enthusiasm, but going to businesses and asking for donations on behalf of Kumoricon is not a good idea.  It is something only authorized Kumoricon staffers (specific staff designated by the Director of Relations) can do.

If you really want to get involved contact Sarah, Director of Relations, about becoming staff.  And like I said before, you really need to talk to her about your idea of an auction... that is not something I would typically allow in a panel.

I like the idea of possible skits and things. We should do this... like the idea I had of, just before the Kuro 18+ (If I decide to go as a PJ Ciel with just the bottoms and my chest bind corset thingy), I yell "Sebastian, I... I can't!" ala the crossdressing corset part, then the doors open and everyone comes in to see Sebby pulling on my chest bind like the corset. xD

Also, Ciel ordering Sebby around enough that he finally goes "No soul is worth this ****!" and storms out... only to be dragged back by Claude or someone. xD

And maybe, at the very end of either panel, Ciel gets taken away to get his soul eaten. n.n;;; or, if it was the 18+, his getting his soul eaten is in fact a kiss from Sebby. Or something. I dunno. Any other ideas?

You play Freeze by two people acting out a random scene. Any time, someone says "Freeze!", takes the place of one (exact poise and all), and acts out a new one.

I'll send the e-mail right now with those that I have the e-mail for, but I'll post it here as well.

For the under 18 panel, we'll start off with introductions and a very short Q&A about our character's, in character. We'll get down to the games, probably like... Freeze, Honey, etc. And the way we stop each one is to have a character sorta start an improve-esque skit around a theme (like Gina, as Alois, yelling 'FREEZE!' when I'm playing as Ciel, and then trying to kidnap me for the lolita). I'll have in the e-mail specific prompts.

Any ideas for the improve skit ideas? I've got, so far, the aforementioned one with Alois, Elizabeth trying to put a bonnet on Sebastian... uh... (crap, I've been thinking about this, but am having a terrible time thinking of any with the hosts we've got).

We've got an hour for the panel, and it'll probably end with another short Q&A from the audience, all in character, but keeping it tame.

For the 18+, it's a bit different. We'll have a full Q&A, since we don't have to worry about the pesky 18+ rule (Heather learned from the Hetalia panel last year how risque certain anime can get with that). We'll have that for about... 20 minutes to a half hour (I'll be watching the time). Then we'll start on the games for the 18+; probably start with in character truth or dare, with the truths and dares being from the audience. Hosts reserve the right to say NO. They also reserve the right to say **** NO. After that one, if we have time, I'm gathering together various pieces of the fandom (choice fanfics, fanart, etc) that may make the actual characters go "WTF?" and have an 'exploration of the fandom' sort of thing... but in character. xD

I think if they answer in character, just like you mentioned above, that would be best. Even if they don't know their "partner" that well. I think it'd be fine to really put out any answer that made sense.

Me and the other Kuroshitsuji cosplayers were all at a photoshoot right before it. And when we got there, we were told that there was no room, so a lot of us Black Butler cosplayers didn't even get to go to the panel, which was for me, probably the thing I was looking forward to most.
Definitely best 1st con ever, I just wish I could have gone to the one single panel I wanted to go to.

However, it was made up for as me and some other Kuro cosplayers who didn't get to go to the panel had our own party out in the park by the gazebo with food and drinks and stuff like that and I made some new friends there. :3 So it all worked out for the best, I suppose, I still wish I could have gone to the one panel I wanted to.
(I feel like that with these anime themed panels, the cosplayers from that anime should have first dibs on the panels, like the Black Butler panel, the black butler cosplayers should all have a chance to get in, and the Hetalia World Meeting I didn't make it to either, but I feel the Hetalians should have gotten first dibs on that too. Like, I'd expect mostly Hetalia cosplayers to be there)

Anyway, I wish I could have gone to it, and that the other AMAZING Black Butler cosplayers(There was a Ciel and she was AMAZING. Best Ciel I had seen, probably ever.) could have gotten to it, but I had fun with all the other Black Butler cosplayers too!

We're doing it again next year, and I'm hoping to get Live Events for under 18, and a panel room for 18+, since there's less people there. The same hosts, hopefully, will return and stuff too. We didn't expect such a turn out, and thought the panel room would be okay. Imagine my surprise! O-O

I'm glad you guys had fun, even if you didn't get in. I was a panelist on the Hetalia panels, and apparently there was a LOT of complaining about the cap on people let in. I wish everyone could have, but the line cut was for fire safety regulations; not something we can really change. xD

I was thinking of making it an hour and a half long; that might change, of course. Getting the Live Events room, so more can come in is another change. Also, pushing for it to be Day 1, in the evening time. That way the panels are closer together, and I CAN'T do the panel Day 2. I have a costume I've already planned and am getting started on for the Cosplay Contest. The sheer size and elaborateness of the outfit (it involves huge arm prosthetics and stilts) and the white makeup, plus all the rest of it, will make it next to impossible to change in and out, in and out, so that's a full-day costume. Heather, Sebby, will be similar with her costume, but not quite as much. Oh, and both require latex in the makeup xD

But yeah. Day 1, hopefully in the evening because of registration, and getting a bigger room.

But, Fion, it's basically what you use when you ride horses. It's similar to a whip, but riders who ride "english" (instead of "western") use a riding crop instead. it's like a leather stick with loose leather, uh, strings at the end.
