I suggest talking to Hashi, or Malaria about the Toph wig, their is even some information about how they did it in later posts on this thread.

I've already started working on it, being as, considering that I have to build a wheelchair with functioning break system, and the ability to fold in half and be disassembled and reassembled with nothing more than some elbow grease and a normal screwdriver, I'm getting a huge headstart.

Let's hope I can actually pull this off!

Also, I have a friend who's going to be Aang, and a whole mess of my other buddies who are like "We should do an ATLA group next K-con" but have no idea who they'd be yet and haven't started work or committed, so!

Concerning the Kiyoshi warrior uniforms: I was under the impression they were hakama. I may be wrong.
(Aang and Sokka refer to them as dresses, but hakama are more functional and fit better with the A:tLA universe.)

Woo collective excitement for imending cosplay! I'm going to need serious help getting to the photoshoot probably, though. And who the hell knows what I'm going to do about elevators? I'm considering finding a way to have a hinge in the middle, so I can get up, and fold it in half like a dolly to carry into elevators

Although that might be hard if my legs are bandaged together. Damn it this cosplay.

within the conspace, you should be okay, since things have to be handicap-accessible for the real handicapped people.

OH. IDEA. for the bandages, you could stitch them all together, cut them open at the back, and sew a zipper in. It would be invisible while you were sitting down, and it would give you more mobility. (but you would probably need a friend to help you in and out while at the con, and to do the stitching-the-bandages-together part.)

So. What I did for Suki's costume was this - I made a kimono, and wore a skirt underneath it. That simple. Once I had the kimono made, I pinned the edges back, and the hem up so that it would show off more of the skirt, as in the show. The armor was foam - http://entropyhouse.com/penwiper/costumes/helmsdeep.html - this is the link. It made my life so much easier. I am going to re-do the armor so that it's shaped better, but it looked semi-okay - it wasn't the armor, it was how I had cut/shaped it.

That's actually sort of brilliant. And seeing as he actually does not wear the bandage things in a few scenes, I know what his pants look like, so I'll be making them. I might wind up doing that. And I'm superpro at sewing myself into costumes, so I should be able to do it myself: as for at con... well I'll be staying with a bunch of people, so that's also a nonissue.

At the moment the whole bald cap thing isn't seeming like it's going to work. I will try it, but from what I've seen of them, bald caps don't do their balding job very well, especially one at my budget.
SO IT SEEMS I WILL BE MAKING HIS HELMET.
This is the tutorial I plan on using to make it. Just keeping you guys updated on my process~

Talk about timefucked. Last K-Con we had... four incarnations of the Doctor, and a random smattering of companions. And a Weeping Angel. And the TARDIS. So. Many. Paradoxes.
