hahahaha today someone randomly said 'I'm Germany' to me.
I didn't get it at first but then they said how I was England every day and I realized they meant Hetalia. I'm a failure of a hetalia fan.
(I do wear my England coat every day, and I naturally act rather English, so I can see where they were coming from.)
really I'm more English than American. And I was mistaken for a real French person in Paris. I just fail at being American.
which really isn't a huge loss.

usually when americans visit europe they stick out. being a failmerican I just blend right in. I enjoy it, acually, becuse american tourists tend to be really really obnoxious.
I have a friend who studied abroad in London and even she told me I'd blend in perfectly.

Me and Hashi worked on Norway wig today. And then we got distracted by our Sweden and went shopping and bought a shite ton of stuff for OTHER cosplays. Again. Hetalia keeps getting put on the back burner. XD Or at least Norway does.

(and none of the characters I cosplay has one and I'm anal about doing things myself but that's not the point.)

I'm going to live in Ireland. But don't worry I still have three more years of Uni. (I was thinking of transferring but now it looks like not because I doubt I'll find anywhere else with my major. plus you have to be resident for a couple of years or something before you get to pay the WAY LOWER rates. America screws its students. Europe is much better.)

ALSO TO BE ON TOPIC: I got off my lazy ass and did more chainmail today. I need to make more rings before I come to portland so I can work like mad. I can make progress fairly quickly when I'm not slacking.

We finished Norway wig today~! But no pictures cuz we were distracted finishing other things. Again. >> We wanted to cram in as much cosplay stuff this weekend as we could, cuz now it's Dead Week, and next week is Finals Week. So... THAT'S FUN. 8D;; Oh, and we added some cosplays for Sakuracon last minute, cuz we hate ourselves apparently. We really need to stop doing that.

Oh thanks guys :'D I'm sure I should be fine. And I REALLY would like to cosplay Selty with you guys if possible.. I have about $100 in my bank account for Sak and should HOPEFULLY be paid beforehand so I'm not toooooooooo worried, but still.

@Felix: I'm so far planning on Ellis from Left4Dead2, The Mistress of Ultraprison (I did it for Kcon last year but like <15 people recognized me so I'm recycling it), and hopefully Selty from Durarara. Since Mistress is recycled I'm done with it, but I still have to make the patch for Ellis' hat and then make his shirt... And hopefully a pipe bomb and a defibrillator too. ffff. I still have a lot to do before April :/

And how do you fight with a vending machine? even the conductor's baton would be a more effective weapon than a vending machine. Unless you pushed it over on your enemies? but it would be so cumbersome it would be just as likely to squish you instead.

...more people are killed by vending machines falling on them than by sharks every year.

It's worth both reading and watching. It started as novels, so the anime and manga are being produced at the same time and are equally awesome.

Personally, nothing I've heard about it interests me yet to the point I want to check it out. But a lot of people I know have been moving from their other fandoms and it has left me a little bit lonely. :'D

Personally I'm not much into reading manga anymore... and I never watched much anime. I mostly read webcomics now. (and there are a couple I'd like to cosplay from...)

Anyone care to give me a rough plot synopsis? genre? I dunno, I don't want to commit to reading/watching something that's not my thing. (because the last time I blindly followed an OH HAY THIS IS REALLY GOOD it ended up being a romance which failed to hold my interest... I kind of gave up on it. :/ )

From what I understand, having not read the novels, it's a very complicated web of intertwined plots between a huge cast a characters, so there is no real summary. But the simplest plot point that most of it centers around is Celty, who is a death god like the headless horseman from Sleepy Hollow, and she's looking for her head that was stolen. And it all takes place in Ikebukuro, Japan. Basically it's a giant, philosophical, well thought out crack fest.

On a side note, there are so many online comic characters I wanna cosplay too. *.* More than the ones from HoneySyn.

I was thinking Hanna or Ves, but I think Veser's personality would be easier for me (because Hanna's so bubbly/happy) and ... damn I just wanna make that shark hoodie. We can make them together, yesss. (also they're about the same height, according to this. Ves might be a little taller but oh well.)

Well, selkies are generally female. I've never heard of a male selkie, and Hanna is based on a lot of old mythology... I think there was a story about a selkie who was kidnapped/held hostage by a human and she eventually escaped and her son turned into a shark. but I may be mixing up/combining several stories there.

ummm how about I make a journal on da or something so valeria doesn't have to strangle me for being off-topic? you should share yours and I'll share mine, because I'm always looking for new ones that I can obsessively read instead of doing homework.

@Felix: I don't actually read many webcomics. I think that one may be the only one I read that has an actual plot. I do really like http://www.whiteninjacomics.com/ a lot but it's more just like really stupid humor rather than anything really relevant. To anything. At all. I'm not sure why I find them so funny, actually. It is a mystery.

Kero found some that weren't metal and are very reasonably priced, so I'll probably look into that. I don't want to not be allowed or have to put tape on it because that would leave nasty sticky residue. (I know the secret to getting rid of stickiness but I'm lazy.) Those ones are still looking like the best option, but thanks for the links.

GUESS WHAT. I HAVE. because if I don't work on chainmail constantly I'll never finish in time. but I can make super progress on the surcoat and cloak at our costuming parties and then ALMOST BE DONE WHOOHOO. and ugh nobody coat. I am trying not to think about that but HEY I HAVE ALL SUMMER. I think I'll actually finish them all on time.

I never had much enthusiasm for the series.
My reasons are cool group cosplay and fun historical costumes. (and last year because I didn't finish my faun costume on time so England was my backup because it was quick and easy.)
