You haven't really talked about any plans you want to enact to lose weight, you're always like, "I NEED TO LOSE WEIGHT FOR THIS COSPLAY DX" and then you eat pizza. I'll do a healthy eating plan/working out with you if you want but you never do want to so there's nothing I can do to help :,)

Yet you see it in US so its not just a Japanese thing. I think certain characters are quite well recieved too.

According to wikipedia, most cosplay Kigurumi in Japan are done by males, so that could mean that Rin is likely a guy...
