What is Kumoricon?
Once again, this Labor Day Weekend, come and join thousands of your fellow otaku at the Hilton Portland and Executive Tower for one of the biggest and fastest growing anime conventions in the Pacific Northwest!
Kumoricon is a convention run by anime fans, for anime fans of all ages. We provide you with a friendly and open place to learn, share, and make life-long friends and memories. So often, we anime fans are only able to congregate online, and though we do an excellent job of it, nothing replaces the wonderful feeling of standing in a room surrounded by hundreds of people who understand the simple things; here, we share your nostalgia when we hear the opening sequence to Cowboy Bebop, and here, no one will dismiss your manga reading as something only for children. To sum up—don’t worry. We get you. ^_^
There will be weekend-long activities for anime fans of every age and fandom. We have wonderful panels, a fantastic Creation Station where you can share and display your artistic talents, and many contests that are not only fun to enter, but super fun to watch. (Nothing like running across the AMV Show when your feet are killing you and you desperately need some entertainment you can sit down for!)
Kumoricon always provides you with a massive dealer’s room, plenty of theater rooms so you can discover even more new anime series, and exciting after-hours events for the 18+ crowd. We’re not lying when we say that there will be something for every anime fan, young and old, experienced or new to the game. We can’t wait to see you there!
Kumoricon 2009 will be held on Labor Day Weekend, September 5th through the 7th, at the Hilton Portland and Executive Tower.
