Makeup help: Making skin pale/white?

Oi, oi.   o___o;
I knew I'd need some advice for this eventually.

So, for my Orochimaru cosplay, I'm obviously going to need to lighten up my skin tone a lot.
I'm pretty pale as is, but it's just not enough. Honestly, I'd hate to be spending all this time on making my outfit, but completely overlook the skin tone detail.

I've read a few tips on costume makeups and the such, but I either have absolutly no access to the sorts of brands people are naming, or I just don't have the money.

I do have costume face paint, but it rubs off too easily, and my white rice powder doesn't go on bold enough. If it does, it looks way too unnatural.

Has anyone ever had to change their skin color for a cosplay? Perhaps you know of some good body paints or makeup that's easy to get?
Any tips given are much appreciated.  <3

There is a costume shop in Beaverton(mentioned before in another thread) that sells all sorts of make-ups, and usually has a fair/decent price on things. Maybe if you haven't checked there, you could give it a try.

Hmm... well, in theatre, the whitest you can go is clown makeup...

and that's insanely white, so I don't think you want to go that far.

I would recommend finding a good brand of stage makeup ((I cannot seem to think of any at the moment)) and get the palest you can.

It's possible you may look a little sickly... but so does Orochimaru at times, eh?

Also, if your face falls off ((AKA Makeup melts)) try using powder. It keeps the makeup from running off, and I think it becomes a bit less rub-proof.

Now I could be on the wrong track here, this is just from random experiences on stage, and the make up will be different I'm sure.

I suppose I was just trying to be helpful. >.<
Hmmm what to do next year?

Who saw the SnJ Kakashi?!

I may get killed for revealing one of Orochimaru's secrets, but here goes.

Use white hair spray (like this:

http://www.centurynovelty.com/detail_8_179-181.html

Should be able to be found in any costume store. Just close your eyes and spritz a little on. Comes off with soap and water, but sticks really well.

My friend used it when she was Mr. O here:
