Hi folks, rarnom here with the latest info for you about the BIG Salem LANime party:

The party theme is 'fighting'. We will be having fighting animes, films, video games, and real street fights in the campus parking lot (not really...

)

The event will be on FEB 25th

The event will be taking place at Chemeketa Community College in Building 9.

The event will run from 2pm-10pm. We need everyone out, cleaned up, and gone by 11pm.

Here is a rundown of what is happening:

-We will have two large theater rooms showing anime in one room and I'll be showcasing some Martial Arts films in the other.

-There will be a room for manga reading, art creation, tabletop games like GO, Chess, YuGiOh, etc...

-There will be LAN gaming!! LAN tournies and also we should have some console game tournies as well.

-I would also appreciate it if attendees brought some food to share for a snack/potluck room. It is always nice when we can have some munchies on hand to keep us going through the day...

-I have gotten a box of swag from ADV (dvds) that I'll give out as prizes for cosplay and art contests as well as for tourney prizes. I am also expecting a box from FUNImation too.

We are always looking for folks to help out. If you want to help run a tourney, do some set up/take down, monitor a room, whatever, we ALWAYS can use the extra help.

I'll update the thread as I find out what anime/films we are showing and any more info about other stuff happening.

Lastly, here are some directions and a nice easy to read map:

Directions from Portland to Chemeketa Community College
Take I-5 South towards Salem.
Take exit number 260B for Chemeketa Community College.
Turn left onto Chemawa Road NE.
Turn right onto Portland Road NE.
Turn left onto Lancaster Drive NE.
Turn left onto Cooley Drive NE to enter the Chemeketa Community College campus.

Directions from Eugene to Chemeketa Community College
Take I-5 North towards Salem.
Take exit number 256 for Chemeketa Community College.
Turn right onto Market Street NE.
Turn left onto Lancaster Drive NE and continue for approximately 2 miles.
Turn right onto Cooley Drive NE to enter the Chemeketa Community College campus.

Some more info:

The event will be ending at 10 pm this time around. Usually the events go until midnight, but that usually ended up in the staff being on site cleaning up until like 1 am and we don't want to be up that late...

So, just so everyone knows, it is 2-10 pm with everyone gone by 11. hope to see lots of you there!

I could have driven myself but I had to work. Actually my car broke down today at work, does anyone know anything about fixing cars because I am kinda freaking out..

I had 5 dvds that ADV sent me and I gave those away to some of the tourney winners and the art contest winner. FUNImation didn't come through with a prize box thie time... :x

All the fun is outside of Eugene, when I remodel my shop I may have to have a Samurai movie night in costume with prizes and have the party all to my self!

I'm glad to hear you guys were able to do so well with being so short staffed. I can't wait until Hubert and myself are back and can help again.

Yeah, it was really good. The best part was that the clean up was really well organized and we were done FAST.
