So uber ready for it to be here! I finally have three cosplay's pretty much ready. Who else can't wait?

I'm super excited and can't wait either but I haven't even really begun on my cosplay... All of my extra attention for the next month is going to be focused on getting ready.

I'm super excited! Working on my very first prop ever, got two cosplays completely finished, and just got my checklist to finish.

Yeah I didn't make mine so much as ordered it I'm just waiting for it to get here. Here's my line up
Day 1: Sasori (Naruto)
Day 2: Simon (Gurren lagann)
Day 2/3: Nastu (Fairy Tail)
I may switch into my Nastu sometime after 3 maybe.

Me! Me! Me! 90% ready as well. I should be 100% within the next week. (I have everything, just need to piece together the last details) I am extra excited because this will be my first time going to Kumori-Con. ^_^

Well, I WAS 90% ready but then I did that stupid thing where you add another cosplay to your list and all of a sudden you're down to 50% somehow. And it doesn't help that the character I added is like a walking armory either. Weapon props here we come!

Lol. Oh my. Yes, I've been there. I worried a little when my Astrid Peth outfit fell through. (It's amazing how hard it is to find a maid dress that isn't revealing or lolita) Walking armory sounds like a pain to "throw together" this close.

It is a pain to throw together. I've got a couple of random swords strewn about but I need a couple guns and knives and more awkward pointy things. I'm just imagining me all decked out in weapons and costume going up to the peace-bonding table. I should go last...

I panicking, here. When I hadn't gotten any reply to my event application, "LARP Pokemon Battle Tournament" (the thread for it is here: https://www.kumoricon.org/forums/index.php?topic=16396.0 ) I started to relax, thinking, "oh, it probably wasn't approved, I won't bother coming up with any preparations that directing an official event would require.

Then I got the email saying it's been approved. Last night.

THE PANIC SIDE:

HOLY FREAKING PIE I NEED TO FIGURE OUT WHAT I NEED TO DO ABOUT THIS. The worst part is that it would have happened anyways, as an unofficial event. And I still didn't make any preparations. Now Kumoricon is in a month, and I am PANICKING.

THE REALISTIC SIDE:

Most of the event is already planned out, actually. But if I don't write down what to say beforehand, I will verbally vomit all over the attendees.

It will be fun!

We have planned and what we are going to do is bring our son Max (he will be almost 11 months old!) who will have a badge all his own, on friday and saturday morning, meet up with his (my inlaws) grandma and grandpa who will be taking him home and watching him for us.

he is so excited

I haven't made anything new for this year costume wise, tho I normally wait for that 2 week strech before con for craz sewing tho depends on how much free time wee one decides to give me

I am getting pretty fired up.

We got a TON of AMV submissions this year and I have SO much sweetness to choose from for the show.
We will definitely drive through till Monday dawn on the overnighter, and besides audience requests anytime,
we can hit a few recent favesa, but we will have SEVERAL HOURS of all-new material to burn through...

I am putting together the last two category reviews, and then I will try to make a 'generic' winner' trophy background so that I can play 10-second clips of the winners at the closing ceremony. (Although typically I play the Best in Show in its full length, and sometimes a Judges' Choice or similar Special Mention AMV.)

Judges' Choice kicks large quantities of gluteus maximus and it may even go Triple Crown winner like we had last year!

Sakuras wig came yesturday, so I'll be styling it within the next couple days.

My mom is going to help me find the last little bits to my costumes.

My 6-year old laptop started getting a bit flaky; I think it's the thermal compound on the processor that may be coming apart from the heatsink (think YLOD for all you older PS3 fans) so DAMMIT I bought a NEW ONE just for this Con!

Just about finished tweaking it to run the AMV contest - Don't you DARE ACT UP in the CONTEST.
(Gawd we had a static electricity event once in the middle of the show - BWZZZT - "Switch to BACKUP!")

Back ups. Back up equipment and contingency plans.
Always always always. With a Safety pull attached.
Just in case!

I bet most people never knew that at the Closing Ceremonies I had *two* computers FAIL right MINUTES before - so Plan 3 came in and we were able to show those stunning AMVs of that year.

All part of the excitement.

We are going to have a very good warm-up show and an EXCELLENT
AMV Contest. Some categories are weaker than last years, but this
show also has stronger entries in other categories that were weaker
last year, PLUS the new category:

"Not What the Anime is About!"
