How does on suggest a panel.
« on: January 03, 2010, 11:22:14 pm »
I will be attending Kumoricon 2010 Lord willing.
I wonder how does one go about suggesting panels.
A few I would like to see is one for older anime fans. (30+)
Another might be fun is Military in Anime. What works what does not, like how can one shoot holding a 8ft long canon without being killed by the recoil.

Panels are attendee run (some staff have panels they run as well) so really the best way is to run one yourself or find someone interested in running it.

Yes, if you want to be in charge of either of these panels you've suggested then you just need to fill out the panel form and send it to the Director of Programming, Jaki (aka jamiche on the forums).

It's a pretty simple process and it's easy to get your foot in the door. We need lots of panels.

So there's never a possible way to have guests of honor attend a panel?

We had a guest of honor attend our panel last year. Then again, our panel was all about his work so wasn't too surprising.

As far as the guests of honor, you should talk to Relations to see if they would be available and if they would be willing. Let the Relations staff do their job. Just contact them about it after the guest has been announced, after you've handed in your panel forms (hopefully after it's been approved as well if possible), and as far before the convention as possible.
