Closure Con 2010! (an original idea)

So i was thinking.

Kumoricon ended early for me this year due to events that i have already talked about in other threads.
Due to this sudden ending, i didn't really get any closure, and never got to say goodbye to a lot of the people i hung out with.

So i was thinking that next year, we should have a meetup, the day after the con is over for anybody in the portland area who didn't get to say goodbye or whatever, and possibly get some phone numbers of people that they didn't get to hang out with, or would like to hang out with in the future.

I got really really depressed after the convention, and i keep thinking that maybe if i had gotten one more time to see everybody, it would ease the pain, and i know some other people who felt the same.

So lets give it a try next year shall we?

This is an awesome idea, but for people who get into the school year early it cuts into school time. Some people live super far away as well, so any more time thats not used for the con is used for driving. I would have loved to have stayed Monday and Tuesday as well, just to get peoples e-mail addresses. Hypnos, I miss them all so much...

I say someone should run a panel at the last day of con or the last NIGHT of con that functions as the same thing! Have big signs pointing the room and all that too.

as soon as i read that i started to tear up a bit.
i don't think i could handle that V.V

Stayed until the Rant and Rave was almost done and when you see that lobby almost abandoned, about six or seven cosplayers there- the elevators get to you almost instantly, going outside and seeing PEOPLE (I mean normals as they say instead of a large swarm of cosplayers.) and having to go back to the MAX, thats sad IMO.

Just keep it going till next year comes around, you will get your 100+ people showing up to a 20max space hotel room

con rehab... it normally happens at the Japanese days Festival at Uwajimaya shortly after con. this year its on the 26th.

I don't see how if it's leaving the con that makes you sad it would make it any better if you do it the day right after the con..
Then you'll still have the same exact feelings.. But probably worse since you'll be dragging out your misery.

The park next to the hilton is pretty big too. It's like 1 block by 5 blocks all the way up to PSU
