Good to have something different here & there. ^^ I will say this, after election of the new VP, I will be proposing a couple new changes that I think will help benefit this group & make things more fun for all involved. I can't reveal anymore than that though...you will just have to wait & see.

It's something that has crossed my mind...but in doing so, all we accomplish is adding another thread with the same name & essentially the same goals. This thread is already familiar to everyone. However, I will get with Pat & see if he will give me his login info when I need it to update the front page. I think that our group on FB is more effective in managing what needs to be managed anyway so I plan to keep my focus on posting there. Although I still have this thread setup on notify so that I know as soon as someone posts.

Gryffinclaw Princess is quite right that there are a couple of cosplay groups in the Cosplay area, despite the fact that they're primarily chat/meetup threads for a handful of people. But it's not because that's how things should be organized, it's because they were there before the organization changed. They mostly behave themselves, so we haven't moved them.

If a thread is primarily about meetups, then it belongs in Plan Your Own Adventure.
If it's primarily about chat, then it belongs in Posting Games and Chat.
If it's primarily about a cosplay topic (i.e. wigs, sewing, cosplay for a specific anime), it belongs in Cosplay.

Unless the thread sharply changes focus, it is in the right place.

Indeed. This thread is in the perfect spot where it is considering it is mostly used to post meetup information for the cosplay group. Plus, the vast majority of our meetups are more like casual hang-out sessions rather than actual cosplaying. As I stated before, we are more like a group of friends that cosplay rather than a cosplay group...if that makes sense to anyone other than me.

As usual, Jess & I had a lot of fun at the meet...always great getting to see you guys & ruthlessly spew humorous nonsense around the room. For those of you who didn't make it to the meetup, we did hold the voting for VP. From here on out, our new VP will be Zash. He will be responsible for helping me with event planning & taking over for me when I am un-available. I think he will do an excellent job for us as he is often one of the first people to start asking me questions about the meet each week. As I mentioned at the meetup...in no way does this mean that I don't still want ideas from the rest of you guys.

First on the agenda, I have asked Irene to gather all the info we will need to have our Ice Skating meetup. It would be a good idea to do this one soon as it needs to still be winter time in order to do so. If we have people that don't like ice skating or just aren't interested, we might consider trying to have this meetup at someone's house that is close enough that people can just hang out at the house while the others ice skate...then we can all still wind up in the same place in the end.
