Exactly, there's stuff that only geeks and otakus get, and not "normal" people.

ya, have 2, one for everyone, and one for adults... Hell, it could be done where they do Karaoke for an hour or 2... But ya, if there's an 18+, then no one has to really hold back, they can use adult language and not have to worry about it... But if there's only an 18+, then it's not fair to the other con goers who are 17 and younger... So there should be two.

Honestly, I think that 16 year old's should be allowed to attend the adult showings, or at least 17 year old's because their allowed to go to rated R movies as long as they have an idea, and let's face it, a lot of "adult" anime that isn't porn is for 16+ like Elfen Lied... But rules are rules, so there's not really anything we can do about it.

goatse?

? nanidesu ?

Anyway...having worked at a movie theater for several years,
I know the underagers pain, I was the cause of it many a time,
kicking kids out of Rated R movies cause I told them they couldn't
go in and they snuck in anyway.

18+ events create a logistical problem of needing to make sure that
everyone in the area IS infact 18 and up, this was difficult for many
of the events at the convention this year, so doing that for more
events seems difficult to me. That said, even 18+ events have limits,
we aren't a dirty comedy club, there really is no place in fandom for
grotesque or foul humor unless it is within the context. Most anime
fans wont really be into that harsh humor, so I think it's best we play
up our audience and keep the jokes filled with innuendo (fun for
everyone!) and less straight out (alienates and causes booing sometimes)

But thats just me, you can all do your standup how you like it, it really
is up to each person on there own opinion!

well, when you put it that way, ya, it does make sense, make it like the slightly anime dating game, to where they warn everyone that it will have some mild humor just in case of parents, and as such it could work out the same way the sadg worked (and honestly, that event was just to good)

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, I have good news.

Over the last couple months I have been in contact with Aaron Duran, the host of the Geek in the City Radio podcast (check it out on iTunes or at www.geekinthecity.com ). Last week I told him that we now have four comedians total, and I thanked him for helping us (he tried to get us a couple comedians, but it didn't pan out). He sent me a reply several days later, that said congrats on getting more comedians, and that once Kumoricon gets closer, they might be able to have me come on the show so I can pimp our panel.  ;D

The closer the date gets the more seem to show up, hoping for more before that so we have a nice big show with good jokes.

I'm thinking ten minutes (that way it's okay if people go a little over ten minute). But this is assuming that we will have an hour to do this.

See if you could ask the people performing if they will be coming to Kumoricon (or if they want to swing by this here thread ;) ).

Hey, thanks. ^_^
The only thing we really need to worry about is getting our material ready, getting one of the time slots we asked for, and for plenty of people to show up. Hopefully the little description that Washougal_Otaku and I came up with will get people to come see us.

Btw everyone, we've asked for 90 minutes for our panel. So depending on the number of people performing, the ammount of time each of us gets to perform will vary. We may also have a sit down near the end of the show so we can take questions from the crowd.

I think that's a great idea! I would definitely come to a Stand-Up comedy panel if one was organized.
A bit of humor while at KCon would be nice.
This IS BloodyWhisker, but I lost my password to my old account and cannot get it back because I no longer use the email I registered with.. xD Yes, I fail, I know.
