« on: April 19, 2005, 07:36:51 pm »
So I got my Cosplay done today. (YAY.)
And my parent's are like 'Are you gonna wear it to school?'
Me: 'What?'
Parents: 'Well... You spent so much time on it... Why not wear it?'
Me: 'Um. I'll probably get in trouble.'
Parents: 'Oh, like you haven't gotten in trouble before?'
Me: 'Ehh.'
Parents: 'Go on, wear it.'

o-o; They don't even know what it looks like... They thought I made a School Fuku... Um. I dunno. My friend Corey and I where thinking about Cosplaying on one of  the last days of school... Him in his Kenshin, me in my Kimono... Do you think we should do it?

I say go for it!!  it would interesting imo.  as I see it, you can't get in trouble for it unless it somehows breaks dress code.

kenshin and you in kimono?  people may think you're doing kenshin/kaoru couple cosplay.....although that would be cute imo.

The dress code says not to wear halloween costumes. xDD I wonder if I could get away with it during Spirit week? We have a No hat rule, so on the ONE day we can wear hats... xD -cackle-
Me: 'No. But you see, the HAT is the reason I'm wearing the Costume.'
Princable (She's totaly Anti-Manga/Anime): 'Go change Miss Akreeee.'
Me: '-bitch slap- STOP SAYING MY LAST NAME WRONG, BIOTCH.'

halloween?  hmm..its a cultural dress of japan!! not a costume!! tell them that!!  and how is a no hats a problem(I'm presuming you're wearing a hair ribbon).

anti-manga/anime?  eww....that sucks.  I know my dad doesn't like it but doesn't try to stop me from watching/reading it.

They banned bandanas for that reason.

I was accused of being a Nazi beacuse I knew what a swasticka was, and a girl didn't and she asked me to draw it for her, and I did. I felt... Um. Stupid.

umm....I think the other person is...ingorant to be exact though.  originally, swasticka was a symbol from buddism that meant good luck(or something positive..not sure).  nazis' changed it slightly(different flow of rotation) and perverted it for their cause.

Wear it (if you want). Just make sure you're ok with dealing with the consequences if they are a distinct possibility.

A kimono really doesn't qualify as a halloween costume though. An 'exotic' dress maybe, but that's it. I see people wearing kimono's as regular dress actually, not often but on occassion.

The more I talk to young people the more schools seem to be getting worse. A high school girl was telling me the other day they have to PAY for their bus tickets. I was like WHAT? That was included in the taxes back when I was in school. And I guess school cafeterias have lost a lot of ground or are outright gone, losing to fast food contracts within school grounds I guess.

i used to cosplay all the time when i was in highschool.  I came to school dressed as ranma several times, in multiple ranma outfits, i also dressed up as elk for a bit...but thre layers of clothing in 80 degree weather is not fun, lol
you should definatly go for it, it would be fun!

"Step right up ladies and gentlemen, step right up.  Now what I'm about to show you is something that is somewhat rare to find around here.  Behold: A person who has no sense of logic."
That's like someone calling you a professional chef after you tell them you only know how to make a bowl of cereal.

And the Buddhist symbol and swasticka are similar to each other.  However, the swasticka is tilted like a diamond (Buddhist: square) and then flipped vertically.  (I'm 95% sure)

Anyway, on a more positive note...

Speaking of going to events or places in some kind of costume, I remember during senior prom someone went DRESSED IN THEIR PAJAMAS!  The interesting thing was the pajamas looked incredibly like a traditional black chinese-style pants and vest.  I didn't know they were pajamas until the guy told me.

If its on the last day of school nobody should care! I'm wearing my Hellsing Uniform to prom >_<!!!

Plus kids have worn kimonos and yukattas to school here... the only problem was that some teachers said it was "distracting."

So bah, do it anyways, whats the worst that could happen? You'd have an interesting last day *smirk*

Heck, I've gone to school in costume before. But it was as Oikawa, and without the zombie makeup, it's hard to tell that it *is* a costume. Even though I usually don't wear ties.

My first cosplay I wore to my Middle School.  xD *laughs*

It was Faye Valentine.

My friend was Spike.

We got extra-credit in 3 of our classes.

Whats happening to self expression! This is rediculous. I've cosplayed as Wolfwood a couple of times at school. And once as AC Cloud. (heck, they even took pictures for the yearbook) I'm worried that it's gonna hit my school next!

You know what, if you do get in trouble, they'll probably just send you home to change your clothes/just make you leave for the day.

And your parents won't be able to fuss at you about it because it was their idea in the first place.
Take a chance 'cause you might grow

Really... Well the reason we got extra credit was because the language arts teacher was new and just came back from teaching english in Japan for some odd amount of years. Or something.

I am actually planning on cosplaying in school this year (Cause I'm starting high school :D) I just need to get a costume first :P
Cosplays for 2013:
Sakura Haruno (Naruto)
Kakashi (Naruto) - Maybe
Sasuke (Naruto) - Maybe
Sasori (Naruto)

And maybe more...
In case you haven't noticed, I'm indecisive :P
