Sure you do... you can breathe... you can take a shower... um... you can eat something..? You can jump off a bridge and hope your body scars a little kid for life.

Depending on where you live, you could go trick or treating, you could go to scream at the beach. Or, you could have a sex war with your neighbors like im going to.

Wouldn't doubt it, considering thanksgiving is a holiday no one considers music for and most stores skimp on decorations for, unless you consider the actual turkey on sale and stuff.

At least Halloween sales started up in late August, meaning good last minute buys for cosplay top-offs just before the con.

Ugh... Already have Christmas music playing on the radio and in stores (even before halloween here) in addition to Christmas decorations/promotion-sales/advertisements/gimmicky toys already being up. Yesterday there was even one of the classic Christmas claymations on my brother in law's TV and it wasn't from a VHS or DVD. What is next? Charlie Brown's Christmas Special before april fools?

@GregATlas: Easy dude, easy. I know it can be a little irksome playing Holiday music before it's time. It's like selling wone before it's time. But stores want to make money and this is how they do it. Though i seriouly doubt they'll have a Charlie Brown Christmas on April Fool's day. That'd be rather extrememore likely they'll jkeep the Easter and Easter Bunny stuff for April (I'M CADBURY CREME EGG ADDICT!!!). These things go in cycles. They have some Christmas stuff out at my store but they have  aA LOT more Thanksgiving stuff. But then again i do work ina Grocery store.

Christmas sells very well after Halloween because that is the time parents start to buy plan on buying gifts and kids get their ideas. Plus, people normally start their decorations right after Thanksgiving so they want to have it all purchased and ready so they aren't doing everything last minute. My family already has our Christmas lights up. It's not because we don't like Halloween (since we had them up before then) or Thanksgiving but because it's safe. The weather is still nice and the roof is dry. If we waited until after Thanksgiving there will be more rain, ice, and possibly snow which makes it more dangerous. I would rather look stupid and have them up now than have my dad get hurt because we waited for the ice to come (Plus, we don't have them turned on, just put up. We turn them on after our Thanksgiving dinner).

And the Thanksgiving stuff depends on your area. Where I live in WA I have not seen a single Thanksgiving isle in any store because it's not really that huge here. It's the largest growing city in America for economy but it's mostly farm families and A LOT of Hispanics so this holiday kind of passes by most people here. (not saying either of those people don't celebrate it. It's just that this area and the people specific to this location don't make a big deal out of it)

I was kind of hoping something like this would be going on at k-con because I was fairly newly single at the time. I'm a little surprised there isn't a dating thread on the forum either but haven't asked about it because I figure there is a reason for it.

I saw some clone troopers at the Sherwood Robin Hood Festival.

I'm sure cosplay of any sort would be welcome, being mindful of masks of course. And it's Sci-fi/fantasy/steampunk, so options all around. I browsed through their recent activity schedule and nothing in it seems to interest me. Doesn't mean it won't appeal to anyone else though.

Just a snowfall is pretty much equivalent to frozen rain. Snow that lands and sticks around for a while is worth celebrating. Snowballs and snow bunkers to be made.

I used to like snow sticking a lot as a kid.  Now that I'm older with more responsibilities (and a vehicle that's absolutely useless in the snow) I have a lot more appreciation for the simple majesty of snowfall than snow on the ground.  If you want to play in the snow, there's plenty of it on Mount Hood year round :P

I am biding my time until I have to go to work. I should shower, but the shower in my bathroom is evil and hates to work right. I might ask my other roomie to use hers if she's home.

Yesterday I ducked out on the battle at my big Amtgard event to go watch a mini marathon of Sailor Moon with friends and fans still dressed in my battle gear. Though I looked more like the Great Saiyaman out of DBZ with a few missing pieces. not what I usually wear to a game of dirt, sweat (in this case shiver), swords, sorcery and food.

I ended up taking a bath and it was hot and wonderful and oh so very soothing. Deeefinitely worth it. That'll be my cleansing function of choice until I get around to calling the office to have someone come fix the nozzle.

If I'm anywhere near a mall or store, I may take my Amtgard shield just to have some form of personal space. Then again I may have to do that on the bus. I wonder if Tokyo trains are still more crowded than the MAX after a 'Hawks or Timbers game.

Man. I really want to finish my fanfic as soon as possible, but I just don't know how I'm going to develop part of the middle. I love parts of it and hate other parts. I wish I had more time to work on the things I want to...sigh.

I've devised a short poem: "Some sit and kill monsters with the clicks of mice. Some sit and slay dragons with a roll of the dice. That's all good, but my hero gets a workout playing Amtgard at my park in the sun, rain and ice."
I don't go there to win every battle or be able to kill monsters at every turn. At Amtgard I learn how to have fun, what it feels like to live, die, and live again, and what it's like to be the hero and sometimes the villain. My enjoyment and comradeship...REAL honor and respect, are my treasure. And firsthand experience is the best way to feel "leveled up." I shed a tear for those who haven't found the desire to rise with us, and I raise a glass to the ones that have.

I know this post won't have the effect on this crowd as much as it did the other one I posted this in, but some passions are meant to be shared, even if I'm addressing a different tribe.
