I took piano for a couple years and since then taught myself songs and just play by ear now, so I'm a pianist, but I'm also teaching myself violin now. =) Only been playing violin for a week, so I'm not fabulous at it yet. XD
No plans for 2013 due to always changing plans. ><

I'm a classical musician. Primarily violin, but also piano and voice (soprano, f yeah). Most of my piano is self-taught, unfortunately. I joke about how I'm a "hack classical pianist" because of it.

Music is literally my life. I study it. orz I swear to god it's one of the hardest majors out there.

Gosh I've been a musician as long as I can remember. I've played Piano for 9 years, Flute for 8, Piccolo for 2, I've sang classical opera for 5 years, and I dabble in Guitar and Marching Snare Drum. (:

I'm a musician..Now I say MUSICIAN, and not a specific kind because I play mor then one instrument..
I play guitar and bass better then anything else. I'm boss at those. I play metal though so a lot of sweep solos and heavy riffs. and I refuse to use a pick on bass. And I prefer 5 string basses. And slap bass is fun as heck lol Been playing both pretty much daily for somewhere near 12 years now..I forget exactly how long..Took lessons in school but only to learn to read sheet music (that class was an epic fail if I ever saw one..Stupid high school).

I also play drums. I'm pretty good, not las good as the strings up there, but I can play a lot of songs and I have my own way of set up that I like. Been playing for about 8 years on and off..I don't have a set at home anymore. Never took lessons..

I also play a little piano. I learned by ear and never took lessons. I only play when I can get to one (like at a pawn shop or music store I'll go find one). Only been playin for about 3 years on and off..

I can pick up anything and learn it really fast though..I'm VERY musically inclined

I AM looking to start a band eventually..If anyone in the Auburn/Kent/Federal Way area over 21 (so we can play in bars, and I myself am 25 so yea) and play post hardcore style (UnderOATH. Drop Dead, Gorgeous. [OLD] From First To Last. Etc.) Maybe we can get together and see what happens. I know this is different then what I said above, But What I play on my spare time and what style I want in a band are different lol Also, whatever band I am in, I will be guitar. I prefer lead., but having both guitars being lead is an option I am ok with too

My strongest instrument is my voice. I have never taken lessons, but I want to really soon. My mother says I should go look into getting opera lessons.
I used to play clarinet and violin in school and I know some piano (As in the only song I can fully play is Room of Angel)
I was thinking about one day starting a band that mostly covers video game music.
Although I have no talent what so ever in arranging or composing music

That actually sounds pretty fun..Though if you are more of a vocalist that might not work well with game songs..Anime yes, but not so much games as they have no lyrics..

I don't have to sing lyrics, I sing best when there are no words. I usually sing the main melody of a song.
I am always humming along while I play game, it's a bad habit.
I've been thinking about picking up the violin again, that is if I can find my grandfather's

Oh that would be pretty kool, too..
Wonder how that would turn out..
Just outta bordom..Might as well put the game songs I know..
-Both the fight theme and normal boss themes for Final Fantasy 7
-Most of One Winged Angel (Sephiroths theme from ffvii: advent children)
-Price Of Freedom (Genesis' song in ffvii: Crisis Core)
-Most of the mario theme (original)
-Most of the zelda original theme
-Metal version of the song of storms (LOZ OOT)
-Metal version of Zelda's Lalluby (LOZ OOT)
_Metal version of another song from LOZ OOT but I forget the name..It's when you go into the forest area that's above the village you live in..

I know a few anime songs too..I know the dragonballz theme, the super buu theme from dbz around the time he fights vegeto, the death note theme (full song), and a few others but I can't think of any off the top of my head right now..

Yea..Quite a bit so far..

Yea, at first it's like "GAH WTF DUDE!!!!!" but once you do it for a while it comes naturally. I haven't used it in a long time though..I just wanted to be able to say I can lol

Plus, I learn most stuff by ear..
Look up the song XIV by the band Born Of Osiris. It's instumental (though metal) but it starts slow and goes into a long full song solo that's all super fast and what's called "sweep picking" that is the hardest soloing ever. The reason I say look THIS one up, is I learned it by ear..

I sing, but don't post videos because of self esteem.
I write, but don't share because I don't think I'm good enough.
I gave up on guitar and piano after a couple weeks cause I didn't think I could do it.

but,
I'm going to school. Music Technologies. Electives WILL BE Private Voice and Guitar or Piano. I haven't decided.

Teddy_Bearxx, don't give up because of what you think you can and can't do. I think if you try you can do it.
Why private? just so you can't be seen just like the video thing? Do you think your ugly or something? And that's a serious question..Looking at your Icon, your not ugly so I hope that's not why..Or maybe afraid of being judged on talent? That I can't say anything about without hearing you.. also, Like Wrath-Chan19 said, That school sounds fun. I wouldn't take it but still..
Here's why..
Guitar teacher: why are you in the beginning class playing crazy train (ozzy song)
Me: Cuz I'm bored and this was the only elective I knew I could goof off in....
Teach: good lord..**Face palm**

Yea....

I have been a musician ever since I can remember. I was put into piano lessons when I was 5, I've been classically trained for almost 7 years, and I recently taught myself guitar. Before that, I was the disappointment in the family because I was the only person who didn't play the guitar.

I do post videos to YouTube, but you probably don't want to hear them. However I'll post the link anyways.

Also Teddy if you fear that you suck don't worry, you most likely don't and you will only get better the more you do it! There are plenty of people you post their work on youtube, a good chunk need work, but I don't see many people bashing them!

You can play Crazy Train Jason?

They are good, and the music for the first 6 games is amazing.

That top part is totally true..The only way you will suck is by telling yourself over and over again. Just believe in yourself. If you see me at the con in my Akaito cosplay, I will have a guitar and small amp with me. I would like to hear you play, or you can sing to my playing. I would totally love that.

And yes. I can....Not only CAN I, but that conversation happened when I was 16..I'm 25 now....

I just suck at games like those....Oh well..

I will have to hunt you down at Sakuracon then!

That is awesome! The only song I can play on guitar is the famous few notes of Smoke on the Water, using one finger. I took lessons once in elementary school because my mom plays.

Don't worry I still turn to strategy guides and the internet all the time for help with Silent Hill. Or waste way too many hours running around in circles to find a stupid doll leg. Look up the music if you get a chance. The composer wrote lots of beautiful songs featuring guitar.

Toona, I'll look them up when I don't have a final essay to write in one night!

Also, I can say for a fact, "betchya you play that wrong.." I'll show you how it REALLY goes if you want..

Isn't it like a shooter/puzzle game (a lot like RE)? Yea..I suck at those like crazy..Mostly the shooting part....Well, Aiming..

Oh sorry, but I wouldn't mind joining you!

Thanks but no thanks, I'm not fond of playing guitar, cords confuse me and it hurts my fingertips

You don't aim that much, it's not like RE in that sense. To hit the enemy you just have to be sure you have the flash light on and you are facing in their general direction. And more likely you will be saving your ammo for the boss fights. The Puzzles can be hard though if you aren't on easy.

Awesome. It shouldn't be hard to find me....Since I'kk be probably the only one that will look like me..I'll be Akaito in his black and red coat, with a red guitar (I'll either be playing guitar a lot of the time, or you will hear music because I'll have a speaker thing on me playing songs)

Ah, I'll still show ya though, like, play it the correct way for you..

Oh..See I didn't know that..That's a lot like the game "3rd Birthday" where there's auto aim..But the puzzles would confuse the cratp outta me

I've been bullied a lot, so I'm not good at sharing what I like to do. I just keep it to my family, soon to change though hopefully.
I go with my dad for an hour a day for practice, so when I take my laptop I'll record a little bit of the practice for you if you REALLY DO wanna here it.
-been away for a couple days, my bad-

Yea....

Don't worry, you are not alone, but I learned to stand up against the bullies and do what you love louder and bigger in front of them!

Awesome, I'll be sure to remember to show ya lol It's the same basic chord pregression, just with different chords..

Oh..I think I'll just have to try them out then..That's about all I can do lol Either way, I don't play video games much anymore..

Yea, I can understand that..You gotta just forget anything they say. I would love to hear if that's something you wanna do, If you really don't feel comfortable recording in on the lesson, then don't. Don't push your boundaries just because we wanna hear.

Oh, I guess I never mentioned..At this con, I can only go if I get into the Artist alley....If not I may not be able to go..Also, being in the aa I can't have my guitar with me unless it's for a Vocaloid Shoot. I will more then likely only have my guitar at Sakuracon....
