In fact, at my local Pokemon TCG league, every October Pre release event is also a pokemon costume event.
Last Oct someone went as her.

I remember someone who came to a tourney as Holon Lass who offered apples as "energy." The card effect allowed you to pick energy out of the top x cards from your deck. x being the total prize cards left between you and your opponent. (ranging from 12 to 2)

Meanwhile, I'm planning on engineering a Pikachu Gijinka inspired by the avi pic seen here.

The meet up is always a group photoshoot. Last year we had the group shots sorted out for trainers, generations, legendaries, and battles. C:

It was actually pretty fun, and I'm REALLY shy in person. But we had great times, like the Jirachi vs. Teddiursa battle when Jirachi started losing so an Ash cosplayer was like "Curb Stomp, Jirachi! Use curb stomp!"

We can all look ridiculous as a group~ It makes it more fun.

Haha, no but my BFF was. She's the Jirachi returning this year since Jirachi is her favorite and she liked that costume. I was a really weird Lugia and Salamence last year, but this year I'm challenging my costume designs and sewing a fancy Latias~ :3

well mine is kinda? lol i'm making it into an actual pokemon costume, meaning i'm taking off the hair and instead making a hood for the costume, and ima be carrying around the life-sized plushy around saying it's my baby, created by me and gold XDDD (joke) so yea.

Wow, Ive been thinking about the trade off between buying a commision costume VS making one and well..... I WOULD make my own, but I lack the skills to do so. Plus, it just seems like a better choice to buy. (provided you find a good source)

On that note, as you all know, I am buying my costume. (luxray gijinka) I got the wig yesterday and the costume should be here soon.

I think you should with what you feel most comfortable with. I'm not good with beadwork, or woodwork, so I had to commission my Vanille cosplay. But I'm mildly confident enough to make my own Latias dress since I've made dresses in the past. It's a matter of what you feel like challenging yourself with, and if you think you'll be confident wearing it. C:

The sad part is, most of them are female characters.... sigh. But what can I say? The idea is to cosplay as your favorite character which for me, happen to be girls.

Another pokemon gijinka is on my mind mainly.
Among other ideas.
If I had a good appearence in mind, I would love to do a Mightyena gijinka. (male or female)

Why would I laugh at you? I went years commissioning cosplay, it's fine as long as you don't call it your own handy work. Only last year did I start sewing my own. :3

And hmmm... I would say get some boots and sewthe fabric onto it to help give the "puffyier" affect it has, and then get thick gloves and sew the pointed fur onto it? That's a tough one, I'm not sure.

for the shoes i would get regular black shoes and then get black stockings and sew on the fur. it's not that hard. i can do some for you if you like? just gotta provide me the material lol

Due to the fact that we arent exactly close by, It would be hard to supply you with the materials, but I could supply you with the money needed for it. It MUST be cheaper then a commision website. lol

I lke the idea of using boots for it and just adding the fur to it, but that gives me a problem; What kind of boots and where to get em.....
Being a boy, I would not know. lol

I would still have to commision the wig, but the shirt and pants are simple and easy to take care of I suppose.

The stockings are a good idea, I'm just personally not comfortable with that since I've tried attaching items like spiked fur/clouds to stretchy material and nylon and it tends to tear easily. I just thought a boot would be more durable. I would go to maybe go to Goodwill or ebay tall black boots? Sorry, worked better in my head! :C

How would you do this cosplay if you were doing it?

What would you decide for the arms and feet part?

I know you two gave me your thoughts, but I mean more specifically. Since I have no idea on what to do, a little further guidlines will make it easier for me to manage.

what i suggest if you want to make these awesome furry things, i would go to a material, art store and ask how much it'll cost. then measure from about right below your knees down to you ankle. then measure the fattess part of your lower leg's thigh. ugh! here! BETTER GUIDE THAN ME EXPLAINING
yea just go there, and they can teach you how to do it! it's not that hard to make one. if you do this, then you can easily just wear black shoes. and the arm warmers! here's a vid tutorial (really simple) YOUTUBE lawl

One of my friends is like that as well. Our friend was having a hard time thinking of who to go for a seamstress because he can't sew and he's had HORRIBLE experience with some people in the past. So she took it onto herself to make his Latios cosplay. :3
