I had a family moment of silence for the Georgian, since part of my family came from around there. It makes me way said that he worked way hard to get to the Olympics then to die the day of the opening Ceremony.

Did anyone see the Men's short track speed skating finals? I laughed so hard at the Koreans, that I felt guilty.. D8 (Don't kill me!)

but then, Hetalia is also the Land of Useless Trivia so it doesn't surprize me at all that someone here would know.

I can't make it to Sakura since I'll be in school, but some other people in this thread are going. (however, I shall allow them to speak for themselves in case I'm mistaken.)

We actually spent half an hour at the meetup trying to work out a tentative schedule, and it doesn't even include uniform German trio. XD

Nope~. I like Sunday, but it's really going to be dictated by how photoshoots will be fun this year con-wide. I've heard tell they're gonna have an actual system in place this year, so I'm going to hold off a few months before trying to make any decisions.

Er - fun? I hope the photoshoots will be fun, but somehow I doubt that's what you meant. xD;

I don't care as long as the panel (if we have one again) and the photoshoot are on the same day, since I probably won't be wearing Hetalia costumes all three days and I'll probably be staying with Jaqua again. Changing is inconvenient when you're not staying at the hotel.

Also, we should talk about doing things while I'm back in Portland. I know we were going to discuss our Succession costumes...

That's probably a good idea. That means I'll be totally braindead by the time we get to the panel, but I hear I'm funny that way.

Yes! Succession designs. It's actually yours that I find the most worrisome. The rest of us can pretty much add frilly detailing however much we want but people have a really set idea of how Redcoats look, so we can't fuss with it as much. Not that it won't be hard enough to make. xP

My biggest problem is actually getting off my lazy ass to work on it. xD; I have the ability to do it but I fail at self-motivation. So I'm counting on you guys for that.

And... I may end up wearing Hetalia two days anyway, since the chainmail will take forever... we'll have to see how much I get done, for the reasons mentioned above.

^SPIRIT GUM. Just be sure to buy the remover as well; if you try to just pull it off it'll take your skin off as well. and just curious, what did you use last time?
Personally, I'm not a fan of the huge fake-looking eyebrows I've seen on some England cosplayers. It just looks weird.

But I do plan to be less lazy and work on it more.

Eyebrow pencil would be your best bet, I think.

Depending on how thick your natural eyebrows are, another option is to pain them. Just get some washable paint and a mascara brush. It'll make your eyebrows bushier because you're adding layers of paint to the hair, but they'll still look like natural eyebrows. And now that I'm thinking about it, you could probably just use mascara depending on what color you want your eyebrows to be.

If you use paint, put glue on them first. It makes it wash off easier.

My fingers are all blistered from making chainmail BUT I CAN'T STOP.

It's okay. They didn't hurt when I woke up this morning, so I did quite a bit more. After a while I don't even feel it. (someone said I must have a lot of patience to make chainmail. The truth is that I just find this very meditative and calming. I don't have time to learn patience.) The only way it'd stop me is if I completely took the skin off my fingers, but it hasn't reached that point yet.

I don't actually own bandaids anyway. I use medical tape... but due to the location of the blisters, any form of bandaging would be too restrictive.

Speaking of chainmail, someone told me a story about his friend in the Navy who wore chainmail under his clothes for training to improve his endurance. He was in a barfight and another guy stabbed him, and the knife got stuck in the chainmail. He looked down at it, looked up at the guy, looked back down and pulled the knife out. The other guy fainted.

Buying >< i would love to make it but i'm horrible at sewing clothes ^^; plus fabric is realy exspensive so it would probably save a lot of time and money and i'd rather have a nice, durable, professionally made costume than a realy cheap one that wouldent look very good.

Making the cosplay yourself actually tends to be cheaper, depending on where you buy/commission it from and your own skill level. However, buying will always save you time. Always. If you have very little experience, it's better to buy the costume... especially Hetalia costumes, because you can find most of the costume pieces for cheap at secondhand stores.
