Hey, this is just a little thread for anyone planning on cosplaying as a Persona 3 or Persona 4 character. Or, you know, even Persona or Persona 2. Those are just a bit more rare.

PLEASE TRY TO KEEP THIS THREAD AS SPOILER FREE AS POSSIBLE. IF SPOILERS ARE ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY IN YOUR POST, MARK THEM. Thank you!

This year I'll hopefully be able to get my gas station attendant outfit together (<3...um, attendant), and if I really slack off then I'll have an Adachi back-up. (<3 adachi) I'd like to do Chie (<3 biker shorts), but she would require cutting my hair more than I like, and I don't know how to do her silly pockets. I'm sewing a generic P4 uniform top for my friend who I'm encouraging to go as Kou (since he is asian AND tall).

For the record I've played and beaten P3 and P4, and watched all of the Answer on youtube.

I'd loooove to do a Chidori cosplay some day, or uniform!Aigis because <3 Aigis and the P3 uniforms are so ridiculously cute.

AHHH! Persona = <3

I was going to go as Minato or Akihiko from P3, or Yukiko from P4 but...

I don't know what happened to that lol.
I have a lotta cosplays on my list right now, but if I can finish them a couple months before the con,
I might be able to fit a Persona one in :)

I know another new user here will be going as a couple Persona characters, DecemberWinds!
I've seen her around, she will be going as Fuuka from P3 and Naoto from P4.

Wow, if we really get a lotta people, we should have a small photoshoot and such!
You MUST bring your Kou friend, lol xD

I'm going as a secret persona character :3 but lots of people already know so I should just not make it secret anymore XD haha.

I'm going as Rise Kujikawa from Persona 4 but I'm really nervous because I think I will look bad. (But I love her so I can't help it) And my skirt looks wrong but meh, I've seen worse? [hitshead]

But if I have too many cosplays I probably won't end up finishing her, : [ sadly.

Haha, naturally you have lots of hair, so that should be easy for you! xD
Just keep downing the vitamin E lol. If I cut bangs again I'd have Yukiko's hair,
but the bottom half is still dyed brown from last year lol, I think I'll be going with a wig ^^;;
Looking forward to wearing glasses though, hoho, hurray for megane-fecchi!

Yeah the only probably I have is with Rise she has Side swept cute bangs but my other (Tohru) has straight across bangs XD haha

Hmm, I'm pretty sure a quick swipe with a straightening iron would do the trick!
Not too often during the day though, your hair'd dry out quickly x_x

I kinda want to do Yukiko, but there's a Fuuka cosplayer showing up as well (I mentioned her somewhere above).
She's making me wanna go as Minato too so I can take a picture with her...
Then again, she's also going as Naoto from P4, so maybe Yukiko would be better, more P4-ness...

I'm running around in circles @_@
I should try to finish my current cosplays first xD

I'm pretty sure my friend is going as Ken Amada. He was also Ken last year... He wants to go as hu!Teddie or Yosuke, but I'm biased and trying to convince him not to go as Yosuke. Also since he can't sew it'd be a LOT easier for him to go as Teddie instead. (lol vague spoilers lol...speaking of which, I should edit my first post.)

Just curious, how far are you two in P4 if you haven't yet beaten it?

Also, are you using checkers or houndstooth for the uniforms? We ended up buying home dec. fabric just so we could get houndstooth for my Kou friend, because despite it being pretty common right now it is really hard to find decent houndstooth fabric.

edit: And we should definitely schedule photoshoots. ...P3 cosplayers should have a night photoshoot because that's totally perfect. I'll have a booth so I don't want to be leaving it too much during AA hours, but I'm sure I could leave for an hour or so. (After 6 pm is preferred though...)

I love Persona (or any of the SMT games for that matter)~! <3 Got hooked on it a bit over a year ago after a friend recommended it to me. =]

Speaking of friends, the friend who invited me to KumoriCon may be cosplaying as Yosuke and/or Ken Amada (again... X3 ). ^^ But he's not too sure about that yet... he's not even sure about who to cosplay as AT ALL yet. ^o^; And yep yep, I also support the idea of a Persona photoshoot! 8D That would be teh awesomeness~! <3

Aren't you excited for Devil Summoner 2 (デビルサマナー葛葉ライドウ対アバドン王)?!
I was also considering coming as Serph from DDS if you've played that spin-off.

Again about the Yosuke, let me know if your friend decides to cosplay him.
I'd like to, but I'm pretty sure I can't pull it off as well as some other people, so it's fine if I don't get to, lol.

Edit: I think I read in your introduction post that you're also a fan of Sound Horizon? Correct me if I'm wrong.
I was rewatching their Moira live and listening to it for the billionth time today, haha.

I bought a houndstooth skirt a while back and it comes with spandex underneath it :#3 yay no fan service fufufu.
But the houndstooth is a little large, and its white and black instead of grey and black XD But I saw people at Sakuracon with larger houndtooth than I have, so I don't think it's that big of a deal?

I know FOREVER 21 had the perfect skirt but they didn't have it in my size. It was literally the skirt from the game DX now I can't find it anywhere... boo hoo

Me too and omg I can't wait to get my Raiho plushie! From what I've seen of the Japanese version, DS2 looks great!
I'm kinda hoping it comes with the Raidou version of SMT III: Nocturne Maniax, but I kinda doubt it.
I wanted to cosplay Raidou as well this year, but I don't think I can pull him off; I'm not a hat person orz

...If I have time before the con I'll go as him for sure, yay!

Darn, I was looking forward to some nice fanservice. Anyways, I'm fairly certain the houndstooth is white/black and not grey (http://dokuganryu.com/scans/megaten/p4/01.jpg) so it's probably just shadows/blurring that makes it look grey. And as long as the pattern is within a reasonable range it shouldn't be a problem. 8D The kind we got is the perfect size but... it's sort of a dark canvas, but as you guys have mentioned it does look a little darker in the game/some art. Haha.

I really need to finish the top of my current cosplay so I can get to work on my friend's Kou... And THEN I can do the gas station attendant uniform. I kind of want to carry around a gas pump to make me a little more recognizeable, but EVERYWHERE I've looked is just real gas pumps! I want a cheap prop one that LOOKS real! What I might have to go is take one of those sprayer nozzles off of the hose, and glue on a pipe, then paper mache the outside... If I can find some cheap plastic I could melt it over the mache'd handle so it won't rot so easily. For Adachi I'd just carry... End game props... And some police tape, heehee.

Speaking of which, I should work on my Magatsu Inaba shoes instead of typing up long paragraphs about how I'm busy.

I didn't like the characters in P4 as much as in P3, but Chie and Adachi are definitely the highest out of like everyone. Maybe even the gas station attendant also.

Ah, actually, I'd say the main characters have a lotta personality besides the one you, the player, provide in the decisions you make.
I love the cute side of Minato, like how embarrassed he gets around Elizabeth, and I love the sillyness of Souji,
like when he reacts to mystery food x and comforting Yosuke...

Ahaha, don't get me started on manga Minato, because he is portrayed with a slightly different feel than in the game,
but I stand by my opinion lol. I can have main characters in my top five, haha!

A bit about me, I'm 5'4", Asian with tanned skin and a slender build. Oh yeah, and barely any chest, haha.

I was thinking about cosplaying Akihiko, but kinda like you, I'm iffy on wigs that are short in the front (meaning the bangs), and I'm actually worried about Germany for that...but I'll make it work for him somehow, I guess.

Haha, C.C. was my first cosplay ever, so I didn't think to take glamour photos before going to the con,
and I didn't know to do stuff like conditioning your wig, perfecting the eyebrows, etc so I think I really sucked last year.

I think I will do Yukiko now since one of my younger brothers is set on cosplaying Souji.
That completes our group if we can also get a Chie and a Teddie.

Hey, I forgot to check this for a few days and it doubled in size. XD Wooo!

Nooo, I hate Yosuke with a passion. D8; Stupid womanizing homophobic complaining constantly obsessive JERK.

But we should definitely, DEFINITELY play the king's Game. In character. Or not. But it sounds so cool. Exclusive to P4(or at least SMT) cosplayers, or anyone? We might have to do it not on con grounds though, since when Yosuke falls of the MCs shoulders and breaks his legs Kumoricon isn't held responsible. And when Chie is in MCs lap and it starts to get a little steamy...

I have another friend who has not played the game yet (we'll fix that...) but she might go as Konohana-Sakuya. That may be pushing it though, and she may end up really liking one of the characters when we get past the 3 hour intro.

I want to go as soo many P3/4 characters. Aside from Gas Station Attendant and Adachi, there's Chie (damn those pockets on her jacket, I just don't know how to do those!), shadow!Yukiko, Yumi, and then from P3 Aigis, Yukari, Metis, Chidori, Elizabeth, Yuko, Fuuka...
Now that I think about it, I actually look like Yukiko AND I have glasses. I don't like her character too much and I'm definitely not looking for a hot stud, but that'd be sooo much fun. Hm.... And it'd be more fun to walk around in a big poofy dress than to be pumping gas... But I--Gas Station Attendent is sooo awesome.

Also, I ask that whoever cosplays Chie is not straight. Please. NO I'M NOT PROJECTING MY OBSESSIONS WITH FICTIONAL CHARACTERS ONTO PEOPLE, YOU GUYS ARE WEIRD FOR EVEN ASSUMING THAT.

No, most of them are glass lenses and they are 0.0 : 333 Thats where I got my real pair of glasses : 3 (they have prescription ones are well)

I dunno about you guys, but I cosplay a LOT of glasses characters (they're kinda...my thing, although surprisingly enough only one of my characters so far for this K-con wears glasses), yet don't use any glasses at all outside of cosplay. I just slide them down my nose a bit and look above them when I walk around to places. You get used to them.

Hey guys, since there's now an 09 photoshoot thread up, any of you want to do a Persona 4/Persona 3/Persona crossover photoshoot?

Also updating... I'm working on my friend's Kou outfit, and it's giant on me. (...he's like a foot taller than me lol) I'm really scared that I'll screw it up beyond fixing... I mean, i know that won't happen, but still. Also, handsewing a white line up the side of pants is really, really time-consuming. Anyways, in regards to my outfit, I'm still planning to be a Persona 4 character, though now I'm torn between Gas Station Attendant, Shadow!Yukiko, and Shadow!Rise (just because it would be easy, though I don't really have the breasts for her...). Should I show off a picture of myself to see what you guys think? (also, my hair is a little bit past my chin, and I'll definitely need a wig for either Yukiko or Rise.)

*knows that the number of people who post in the K-Con forum is actually a very small percentage of the actual convention attendance count so does not need to be told that other P4 cosplayers may show up*

Sorry about that but just wanted to point out that I know not all con attendees post in the forum so we may have all the characters covered. I just feel better knowing we'll have certain characters beforehand; I am looking forward to a wonderful shoot and I don't like "hoping" we'll have a full cast when we meet. Know what I mean?

Now that that is out of the way... I AM NOT PRETTY AT ALL xD I bet you are much cuter than I am (Sorry, I can't check out your picture at the moment, will edit this post later, I'm at work and Flickr is blocked >.<)

And the reason I mention all that stuff at the beginning is because I really don't have ANY plans yet, haha. I haven't started on Yukiko yet and won't until the beginning of July. So I am REALLY flexible, lol. I also already have a grey wig I could use for Souji, which is why I suggested him.

@Sakis01: If you don't mind crossplaying, I'm seeing Yosuke, Shinji (P3) or Jin (also P3). As for girls, you might make a nice Yumi (P4) if you perk up a little more. Ooh, Chidori (P3...) also, though doing her outfit accurately is a little more difficult *...has a chidori cosplayer pet peeve*. I'd have to see your mischievous smile to see how well you'd fit Elizabeth, but that's also possible.

I would like to point out we WILL have a Kou since I'm working on that costume right now. No word on a Daisuke though. Someone who has his costume will be going as him to PAX, the same weekend as Kumoricon... hahaaaa. And there is like, a 2% chance I'll go as Adachi so don't count on that. At all. It probably shouldn't even be on the list. Anyway, I'll see how I'm feeling towards either S!Yukiko or Gas Station Attendant (oooh, how I want to use the real name ;___;) after I finish Kou. More people have suggested I be S!Yukiko, but. Gas Station Attendant is just SO COOL and SO SEXY. There probably won't be a lot of people wearing either of the alternate outfits, at least to Kumoricon... Sakuracon maybe, but we're not on the Sakuracon forums now are we.

@iluvshijimi: stfu, you are way pretty. I don't know what you're talking about. If you could pull back all your hair (I don't want you to do that though because your hair is lovely ;-;) you'd make a nice MC. It might just be the pigtails but you'd probably also make a good Rise... Lots of Rises this year though. AND you would make a good Yukiko. See, pretty people can just be whoever they want. Hell, you'd be a hot Alice!Teddie also. ...A better idea has not crossed my mind before now.

This might not affect anything, but I will be se selling in the AA. So for the majority of the afternoon, you probably won't even see me unless I'm off on lunch runs for the other people at my booth.

I could cosplay Adachi pretty easily...but it's almost TOO easy. I swear I have all of his costume in my closet combined with my short black wig (his hair IS black, right? It looks black in the game but brownish in some art I've found.)

If I can't find someone else to cosplay, I may be him for part of a day. Depends on if I can afford another cosplay or not.

Well I personally think you have the hair color.etc.etc and I do not think you need a wig.

As for Shadow!Yukiko... Natalie knows this, but for me, getting the hair/wigs right is one of the most essential things needed for a good cosplay >.< That being said, now that you know where I'm coming from, I'm going to have to say no to using your friend's wig or your natural hair if it's not long enough T.T It's really easy to find a wig in Yukiko's style though, is it money that's holding you back?

Uhh, the thing that's holding me back is that I HATE HATE HAAAAATEEE RAAAGE low quality wigs. I would much rather see a fantastic cosplay with someone's natural hair that doesn't resemble the character than see a fantastic cosplay with a HORRIBLE. AWFUL. WIG. And see, I've never bought a wig for cosplay before. Of all the characters I've cosplayed with serious effort put into it, only one hasn't had hair pretty close to mine, and at the least I put my hair into her hair style. I'd prefer not to go out of the way to get a nice wig since all the wigs in the area are going to be seriously expensive, or crappy plastic things. I could buy it online, but... I don't know if what I'm looking at is really high quality or not. >: (Plus I personally don't care for wigs all that much in general when you have such beautiful hair as mine OHOHOHOHOno.)

Ahaha, we're definitely on the same page when it comes to hating crappy wigs, lol. Since you've never bought a cosplay wig before, perhaps I could give you an idea as to how I go about buying one~ I've only bought maybe five wigs in my cosplaying career (I've only been cosplaying for a couple months, but I'm a perfectionist, so I can tell you I WON'T allow myself to do a crappy job on a character :P), but I've only had good experiences so far!

First, I like to check eBay! A pro of using eBay is that you can find good wigs for a pretty low price (the most I've ever paid for a single wig is $40 including shipping, which is a reasonable price for a good quality wig). Some cons are...

- The wig may not be what they described. This has never happened to me before, but is possible. If that happens, leave the seller negative feedback, return the item and get your money back.
- It may take at least two weeks to arrive. Most cosplay wigs ship from Hong Kong, so make sure you order with plenty of time to spare if you need it by a certain date.

Secondly, if eBay doesn't have a wig similar to the one I want, I hit up a few of my favorite cosplay websites. Cosplayfu.com is one of them. Solgoo.com is NOT. (OMG NATALIE THEIR NARUTO AND SASUKE WIGS ARE WIN AREN'T THEY?! xD) Generally, you can trust the pictures the seller posts of their wigs online, so use your eyes and determine if it's good enough quality for you! Like I said about eBay, if you get the wig and it isn't as described, return it and complain til you get your money back, but this hasn't happened to me.

Finally, if you can't find any wigs you like on eBay or other cosplaying sites, I would go to a reputable eBay wig seller or one of my trusted cosplay provider sites and commission one. I haven't had to resort to this yet because I've had only happy wig-buying experiences using steps one and two, so I don't know how much it'll cost. I'd imagine it'd cost $60-70 at the most, IF THAT AT ALL. Just make sure you supply some high-quality reference images (that means LARGE images and LOTS of them) and you should be fine.

If you decide to do Shadow!Yukiko and you need help finding a wig, I would glad to help you out! The basic message of the above is, as long as you're clear on what you want and keep an eye out on sellers/items that don't look safe, you should have a good time looking for a wig :3

As a result, I'm not sure how to pose him... so far I've got MC leaning on a golf club, Rise being silly like she is, Teddie being annoyed at his suit open, and I'm planning Chie kicking or something. I'd like to have them all with their weapons, so that'll be monkey wrenches for Yosuke... But uhh. Posing suggestions? I can't think of anything respectful for him.

Yes, it's good to be a little cautious of eBay, but it's the best place to find things a bit cheaper~ Buying costumes from there is a little riskier than buying wigs, but by no means do you have to avoid the place completely, haha. @GwarNekoChan: Have you sewn before? The boys uniform is actually incredibly easy to sew. The most difficulty comes from handsewing the white lines along it... Fabric for Kou was only like, $40 maybe? Including buttons and stuff, though I need to go out and buy a "II" symbol this afternoon...

Ah, I stay away from HelloCosplay.com because their prices tend to be a bit higher (and lower quality >.<) If you look through eBay you're bound to find some really cheap stuff like this P4 boys' uniform:

Neither of the wigs look like the pictures provided by the seller anymore, because I've cut and styled them from their originals. I never use wigs as-is from the seller because most of the time it's overall too long, the style isn't exactly the way I want, etc. To answer your question though, generally the pictures provided by the seller are darker than they are in reality, because of the way digital cameras take photos.

As for your friend's wig, I wouldn't use that because I think it's too short (do you know the exact length?), but if you plan on using it, I'd say that's usable for Shadow!Yukiko if you steam-straighten the bangs first.

Well, I'd prefer a photoshoot on Saturday as opposed to Friday since it sounds like the major Legendia shoot will be then. So having a King's Game in the evening (perhaps at a nearby restaurant if we could get permission to do so... and maybe film it as well? This might also discourage us from getting too steamy too quickly... though on the otherhand, it could discourage us from getting steamy at all and that's kind of the appeal) of Saturday would be nice.

I can't really contribute any ideas as to when the Persona photoshoot should be as I am expecting to be in at least two myself, the New Days and the Hanabi Gang group shoots. What I CAN say though is that I most DEFINITELY prefer the shoot to be OUTDOORS and DURING THE DAY. This is just for quality's sake as pictures come out better with lots of light and the best place to get that naturally is outdoors. (I've had terrible experiences shooting indoors >.<)

As for the King's Game, I think any evening works for me as long as it's not during a concert or a dance. I kinda want to go to those :3

I am fine with playing the King's game~ though some restaurants may not be happy about us being loud (Maybe the ROXY wouldn't mind? We could tell them it's for a drama project~ they are really nice) and they have yummy food~~

I am also fine with a photoshoot indoors and/or outdoors. And anytime is alright with me (as long as it doesn't interfere with the cosplay skits/concerts/dances/showings/photoshoots/panels/otherplans) : 3

Sorry I haven't been online lately, I'm in Europe until early August... There's a sewing machine here and I brought my gas station attendant fabric, but since it's a very, very old and uncooperative machine, I might not have time to finish Shadow Yukiko when I get back. So just count on me ONLY being Gas Station Attendant for now.

Anyways, group shoot. Monday works for me. ...Any day works for me, but I would prefer to leave Saturday free. ...Though now that I think about it, Saturday would work also. MAYBE SATURDAY BECAUSE THAT WAY I CAN WEAR MY PERSONA OUTFIT ALLL DAY. Instead of Monday, which no one really cares about enough to take any more pictures. ): not that anyone would recognize me anyways in any of my outfits, but still. I won't be there Friday, so that's an obvious no on my part...

'Morning, everyone - I did a search for "persona cosplay" earlier today, and this thread came up. Hope it isn't too late for a newcomer to add to it.

I am, with any luck, going to be cosplaying as Persona 3's protagonist/main character/Minato. I've only recently started getting my materials together (Haha, wonderful timing toward the end of June, right?) - but I'm taking the slightly-easier (lazy..?) route out and modifying some pre-existing clothes instead of making everything from scratch.

But at any rate, I'll be trying to get some semblance of Persona 3's main character's outfit together in time for Kumoricon this year.
I'm hoping the black coat I bought works well enough as a base... ._.

For now, I'm going back to playing Persona 4. >_>

XD. It's kind of true that you make a better Ai than Yukiko. And I thought Ai had orange hair? Oh well, Kou has purple hair and I'm just going to use my natural black hair.

Ah, I don't have a picture yet, because the costume isn't finished yet. There's still the collar that needs to be sewn on and that annoying number two and weird looking thing on the collar. Oh, and the Yasogami High School emblem on the front of the jacket. Yep yep. I was also wondering if I should go as another character from Persona 4 who also wears the boy's school uniform, since it would be easy and all. And plus there's three days at the con, so I kind of want to have three different cosplays on each day. Are there any other cool characters I could go as?

Yeah, she has orange/blonde hair xD I have a blonde wig, but it's kind of short and doesn't wave/curl at the bottom... Don't think I'll be using that for Ai ^^;;

As for other cool P4 characters who wear the boys' school uniform... We are missing a Yosuke after Gwar-chan dropped out? You could do him if you could find an orange-blonde wig :3 The only other guy who wears the uniform is Naoki Konishi, but his receding hairline is a bit difficult to do, just like Kanji's, lol.

Soooo, the other day the table that the sewing machine was sitting on spontaeously broke. The machine seemed fine, but my host's mother was upset and moved it somewhere. No way I'm asking for it back so I can actually break it, and as I can't communicate the way I need to wash the fabric to mimic how I would in America I can't really get anything done here at all. Sigh. Let's see if I have the ability to finish three costumes in America in one month... That's GSA, Jay, and either S!Yukiko or Fenimore... Probably Fen... Jay yes...Hmm, maybe I can. Ffff I need better payment for this

So in my P4 magnets/stickers adventure, I have the following characters: MC, Teddie, Rise, Chie, Yukiko, Naoto, Shadow Rise, Nanako, Kanji, Yosuke, Shadow Chie(err, my interpretation anyways), h!Teddie, Shadow Yukiko, Shadow Naoto, Shadow Kanji, and Shadow Yosuke. I decided that I'll have some sort of random drawing for every x number you buy, in which you randomly get one of the following major villians: COMPLETE, TRUE ENDING, COMPLETE SPOILERS OF EVERYTHING: Ameno Sagiri, Izanami (goddess and attendant forms), Namatame, Mitsuo, Adachi, and I'm considering Kunino Sagiri, dpeending on how ~~creepy~~ ~~retarded~~ creepy I can make him look.

I'm going to edit this post in like two hours to address the rest of everything!

Sounds like we're all planning to wear Persona 4 on Saturday, not sure about Persona 3 people but as far as I can tell they are very much welcome to attend the photoshoot and KIIIIINGS GAMEEEE!!! But I think we're waiting until the schedule is posted to decide on a time yet.

Me personally, I'm not sure what I'm wearing on Monday. If things beyond my control work out for me but not for iluvshijimi, then I'll be Ai and if not I'll just wear...something else. 33% chance of gas station attendant.

It only took me an hour to put together the body for GSA, (not including sleeves but whatever...) including making the pattern and everything. 8DDD I'll probably go back in a couple hours to put some sleeves on, but for now I'll color some P4 chibi things. Speaking of chibis, do you guys care so much if their uniforms' houndstooth isn't...all that houndstoothey, or more checkered? On one hand I can scan them in and digitally add unshaded houndstooth but... There are problems with that I don't want to go into now. Orrr, I could just dot checkers/close circles onto the skirt. What do you say?

I don't think it matters TOO much if the houndstooth doesn't look too houndstoothy... Checkered is okay I think :3

The park blocks are a good choice if the weather is nice, but the sunset has been arriving earlier and earlier lately, so we'd have to do the King's Game fairly early if we did it there.

We COULD hike up to PSU and borrow a conference room, but I think we want to do this at a restaurant where it'd be more lively...

My friend suggested Bush Garden since it's Japanese food, within walking distance, and has private rooms... I think we're planning to go on the 27th, so any more suggestions should come in before then. 8D
