Now that I know how the larp shoot is going to flow, my cosplays to run with are:
Future Trunks
Longsword
spell balls as energy blasts
ultra super saiyan as final smash (like Sonic's final smash)

Inuyasha
Tetsusaiga
soft throwing projectiles with red streamers as Blades of Blood
small dagger or glove with yellow streamers for Iron Reaver Soul Stealer
Wind Scar as final smash

Well..I've never cosplayed or LARPed before so idk if i want to get into anything TOO big..also i might be a very short girly Deidara.

I could bring the bulbasaur costume I've been working on, and attack someone as him/her (I guess it'd be a her, considering I'm a her). But I'd only wear it for this, is it worth it?

For Bulbasaur you'd have a pokemon trainer on the side, unless you're independent like Mewtwo or Pikachu.

Speaking of which we need to get pikachu in this. Maybe with enough time I could pull together an Alpha Pikachu (larger sized dominant pika). I also heard there was a Princess Peach running around.

Alpha Pikachu:
Thunder hop (blue tennis ball bouncing, or Lightning Bolt)
Thunder Jolt (shove spell with blue push effect)
Thunder (call lightning)
Skull Bash (charge and headbutt...gentle)
Shield (golden shield)
Agility (teleport)
Volt Tackle Final Smash (Pikachu enveloped in blue energy and runs around in a circle blasting aside anyone in its path) (by the way Pikachu is my favorite smash character)

Bulbasaur is a loner, and beats the crap out of people who mess with his friends.

But I guess that it'd be better if I had a trainer on the side...

Well if I can suggest a possibiliy, not just based on SSB Brawl, but also the DBZ Budokai games. I'm close to pulling together an Inuyasha and a Koga cosplay, and I wanted to fuse them together to form Inu-Koga. If I did do Inuyasha for the film, could the fusion be a great final smash effect?

Just thinking about effects for the battle scene to throw out there.

On my way through Portland, I checked out Pioneer Courthouse Square and I take back any doubts of it being big enough. There's plenty of space to battle/film in.

I get the feeling that's how most people will be feeling. Makes sense to me, also, actually. Don't really need two mock-battle-type scenarios. I'm focusing on the FF Mock and if others still end up doing this that's cool, I'll show up, but I don't know if I will keep too much interest open for it.

Well since the FF crew is doing a full motion battle, why not do this one as an RPG style battle? A plot is followed, and each character in the opposing parties gets to perform an attack in their own way, and the special effects, damage numbers and health bars are added in with computer graphics.

It sounds good. If I am able to make it on whatever date gets decided for this event, I'd certainly come. I'm not sure I'd participate, but I'd film it at least. I had originally wanted to make sure to get it on film. So if people do it, I'll be there. ^_^

Another option is to use game rules I made myself and have two opposing parties take turns using attacks that actually have chances of being countered or missing. The system would allow characters to be balanced with each other and provide exciting possibilities. Naruto's kunai skills against Cloud's buster sword? Ichigo (Bleach) battling Yusuke (Yu Yu Hakusho)? Heero and Wing Zero (Gundam Wing) matching against Shinji and Eva 01 (Evangelion)? Inuyasha v.s. Goku (DragonBall Z)? Try this, Sailor Moon testing the power of Princess Peach? Any cosplay has potential for use in this game.
