So.
[/cough cough]
I was thinking we should have a giant Hare Hare Yukai dance, completely synchronized, and we could get some people to videotape it?
I think it's a fun idea, especially since we'll have all these random cosplays that have nothing to do with 'The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.'
Plus what type of anime con doesn't have one.
Thoughts?

Rehearsals are:
Four days straight, from the twenty fifth to the twenty eighth.
It'll just be normal attire, but we'll have an 'dress rehearsal' on the twenty eighth.

The actual performance will take place on SUNDAY of Kumoricon.

to get people we eed to practice and have a time/date and a cut of what song dance spec, the reg haruhi dance or the extended version?

Music wise, I have both versions. but the techincal means to play it I don't have that.

Well, I think that it'd be better if we didn't do it as a skit, but at a place where everyone could see. And near the Hilton. But, yeah, we could make practice times, if you all were interested.

And, I think the regular version is easier, or we could do an adaptation on the dance and teach it.
In that case I need choreographers.

And, I can get the music. And a boombox, or ipod speakers.

Yeah, this will not be a skit.
We're not asking everyone to participate, but I want a lot of people.
So, how many rehearsals do you think we should have?
Two, for the people who can't make the first one?

We could do it by waterfront, so it's convenient for everyone?
Or at the Rose Garden. They have quite a big stage, and it usually isn't used until evening.
They also have a lot of space around there?

Why not more than that? It'd be a waste to gather up all those people just to do the dance two or three times. That akihabara group you linked to; I was guessing they went around the city doing most of their performances on the same day. Why not do something like that~? :0

On another note, someone should plan to take a group around during Kumoricon, off of the con space of course. Or maybe on the day before Kumoricon? It could really help promote |D

Actually, that's an excellent idea.
We will, of course be performing at Kumoricon.
I need a group of choreographers to meet up with me beforehand, so we can work out the dance.
Any takers?
You just need to be intelligent, and know the whole god damn dance.

But rehearsals, are for learning, not for performing, lol.
Are you guys free... say July 25th?

I live in Portland, and my availability is basically whenever, because I'll probably be able to make time for this whenever I'll need to.

I am totally in.

However, 1, I am not cosplaying this year, and 2, I dont live in Portland, but I kinda know it already, and do para para, so I am not too worried. Could we perhaps all meet the night before the con so we can go over everything then for those of us who live out of town?

You should edit the first post to have the dates and times of the rehearsals and then date/time/place of the actual preformance. I'm guessing this will be done on the first day?

No, I was planning to do it on the second day actually, when Kumoricon is in full swing.
