New Fullmetal Alchemist Re-Imagining
« on: February 10, 2009, 10:32:16 pm »
Fullmetal Alchemist is being re-done, with the intent of staying closer to the manga. A teaser trailer for the anime has been posted here: http://www.hagaren.jp/, it is set to begin airing soon in Japan.

Anyone excited for this? Thoughts? I'm personally stoked like a fireplace, but that's just me.

Well I've got volume one, so I'm trying to get it, but I agree.

I just love how Al looks in that trailer. He is so much darker, more brutal looking. This should be really interesting.

Oh man I'm so excited for this! Thanks for posting the new trailer. It's looking like adults are targeted for this version, rather than the more child oriented version of the original. I hope it will be as good as it looks.

Yeah, I had no problems whatsoever with the original anime. It is one of my favorites of all time. It was beautiful in its style, it had humorous aspects as well as the serious, and was just a thrillride from beginning to end.

This new one though, looks equally amazing, but in slightly different ways (based off the trailer). Can't wait!

If the manga was better than the anime, and the anime was super awesome, and the new anime is based more closely off of the manga.....it should be uber super awesome. Can't really imagine how cool it could be!

According to Animenewsnetwork.com, the new FMA "premieres in Japan on April 5 at 5:00 p.m." Got some time to wait!

I assume the voice actor will be. Would make sense, too, since the voice actor for Ed has been there a couple times, I think.

Makes me wish I was going to SakuraCon, but oh well.

I think that's cool that Vic (and Aaron now, too) are taking their time to visit SakuraCon. I've heard some bad stories about Vic, but he seems like a really cool guy to me (and I have to believe some of those stories were said out of someone's particular bitterness and general bad attitude).

I still hope he comes down to Kumoricon some year.

Yeah I've heard some bad stuff too, but everything I have personally seen of him was nothing but good. Both years he was always out walking around the con, taking pics with people and such. In '07 he did a "service" (I didn't go to it so I don't know exactly what it was) on Sunday (since it was Easter) and after that he just hung out outside the panel room for a good hour talking to people, doing autographs, and taking pictures with people.

Yeah I believe Vic is a worship leader or something at his church. So he brought in a piano and played worship music in '07 because it was Easter. It was one of the best Easter services I had attended in awhile. He seemed like a pretty good guy to me. I haven't heard anything bad, but I don't purposely search for negative news on people. I'm excited that Aaron is going to the con. When Vic was there I pulled out the inside cover of the FMA movie and had him sign Ed. I'm go to try to get Aaron to sign the other part of it, then it'll be complete.  :D Oh man, already excited for con!
