minor set back. it seems my aunt wants me to wait a year before i come down there so i'll have to see you guys in 2010 :-[ :'(

If that is a minor setback, I don't want to know what a major one is.   :-\  I think there are going to be a bunch of disappointed Portland otakus now.  :(  Still going to try attending Kumoricon over Labor Day weekend Subaru?   ???

Afraid not.  I don't spend much time on blogs or boards.  It would take away from my anime viewing time    ;D  In fact this is probably the only one I frequent, but I am on here quite a bit, and you can always PM me or GASP! Just so you know, I'm within a couple of months of his age. Grow out of it? I grew into it!

So much for snow, here's the rain eh? 12 inches in the next couple of days, say goodbye to Everett, Mt. Vernon, and probably a few other places too! Hopefully not yours.

Do you mean Cthulhu? As in the novel The Call of Cthulhu, by H.P. Lovecraft? I haven't read it yet myself, but I thought it was just being in it's presence made one go insane. It was a being so advanced, it was as if we are at the level of ants in comparison. Forget the tentacles. I think John Ringo and Travis Taylor have been trying to revive that genre of science fiction, but using more hard science to do it. Travis Taylor has a couple of phDs. He's a real rocket scientist, but he writes fun stuff.

yeah... i guess it is a c... since it is hp...  apparently lovecraft and howard (author of conan the barbarian) were friends and exchanged ideas.  This means that some of the mythos from hp lovecraft appears in some of conan's stories... such as dagon and the like.

that done, some fan of the conan rpg has devised a new spell list based on hp lovecraft stuff... some of it is going to make my character ridiculously powerful... hopefully i don't get nerfed
