AP Euro is like the canon and Hetalia just provided the caricatures in my opinion. History is so ridiculous it doesn't need any help to be entertaining. XD

I have no idea what I'll be cosplaying for Kcon 2010. I kinda wanna do Mafia Romano with the suit and everything. >> Or Prussia in a dress, like I originally planned for this Kcon. |D

I wish my school taught Euro History. Instead we only get three years of history. D:

History is pretty intense on its own, but I think having characters, if you will, for it adds to it.

Don't worry, I'm seriously considering wedding dress!Prussia (and yes, I mean male Prussia). X3 It all depends on if I have the time to make an outfit as opposed to buying one. Cuz Prussia in a barmaid dress wouldn't require making anything. And Mafia!Romano would be hella fun, no question. I love having weapons. >: D

The characters definitely make history more entertaining, but as for the actual Hetalia comic and anime, they seem more like fanon to the canon history to me. Like fanfics. : P I just like the characters and don't read or watch most of the series itself. XDD

I've read the first five chapters, and I've only seen the episodes we watched in the panel. xD;

If you already have barmaid!Prussia, you could plan to do it if you have the time, but if not, then at least you have something.

(part of the reason I want to do what I'm thinking of doing is because I want an excuse to buy/make a fake sword and carry it around with me.)

I don't think anyone would have the balls or craft skill to steal that idea.

Word on the history being enough on its own. I mean, people are at least as ridiculous as Hetalia chars, and then it's people en masse doing things.
And also to not really reading/watching the series much anymore. A good chunk of the fandom are better writers who tackle more history rich subjects in interesting ways. >>

Do some brief research on peculiar Japanese traditions for Western holidays. Like look to see if Japan does something special for Halloween and incorporate that into props/an outfit.

Wait, what's next month? Ah, well, it's probably something I can't go to because I'll be at college.

Uh, I wasn't thinking England. But it really depends on whether I have time, since there's two other cosplays I want to do. And if I don't have time I can always reuse my England costume from this year. Hmmm, making chain mail (or something that could pass for chain mail) would probably be really hard, but I'm not sure I want to walk around all day in chain mail, and if I leave it out, every one will probably still get the idea. (I might just buy a fake sword anyway because I really really want one.)

My idea was for a historical costume, because then even if there are duplicates of the country, they're unlikely to be the same as mine. (and since the regular costumes are mostly military uniforms, the historical ones are more interesting and fun to make.)
