Meet up sugestions!

Me and Nikki were talking and decided it would be a good idea to get a forum going on ideeas for meetup.

this is what we have so far

1. Bowling (I can call and see how many lanes we can reserve so we can brake up into teams what not, maybe cosplay themed teams)
2. Mini gold (Bolwinkels has the best course, but its outdoors so we would have to eather do it soon or wait till spring)
3. Ice skating (any time of the year)
4. Laser tag (we would have to go in groups depending how many people are interested in it)
5. Picknicks
6. Movies
7. Roller skating
8. Cosplay workshop
9. Oaks park

any other sugestions are welcomed :3

UPDATES:

Bowling: In progress of planning, I need to pin down a date but it may be around october or novemeber? I have a few places in mind and I'm looking into reserving lanes but I want to know how many people are interested in it first before I ask about the cost of reserving so I know how many I can get. Also I'm thinking we make it a tournament and split into teams, I need help deciding a prize if that goes through! While I can reserve lanes there is also a fee that is needed to be payed to play and for shoes, I expect you guys to pay for your own shoes and what not thank you very much cause my wallet is not fat as of this instant.

Golf: If you want to do golf I'm not focusing on it right now but we have two options, go in the winter to the glow in the dark place downtown, near the hilton aprently, which can work for winter fall or spring. or we could wait till spring and go to bulwinkles which has a long course that i believe splits into two diffrent courses ._. not sure.

Laser tag: Bulwinkles looks like the popular choice since they have a big arcade right next to it. If we go to Bulwinkles we have the option of also tackling mini golf at the same time... I'm thinking if we go to Bulwinkles we wait till spring so its nice weather and we can enjoy the out side activitys as well :3 if we do this I want to get a LOT of people involved and see if we can reserve a party room for it.

Ice skating: Winter activity, we have the option between the loyed mall or a smaller place that i forget what street its on. the smaller place is just ice skating no mall atached.

Picknicks: Nikki's job.

Movies: not much planned yet.

Roller skating: MOre then likley at oaks park. if we do it bring durable cosplay, falling on rolerskates causes a bit more damage to costumes and the wood floor adds a lot of bruises... If we do this I think a practice sesion should be in order ^^;; also Oaks does the hokey pokey, couple skating, and other fun stuff.

Cosplay workshop: not much planned yet

Oaks Park: Postponed untill spring when it opens back up.

If we go ice skating we need to go to the rink in Sherwood...its MUCH bigger than the one at Lloyd.

but the nice thing about lyod is that its in a mall so you can go get something to eat before or after, and kinda raid the mall which is fun...

Pros to the Lyod:
+Mall
+Every one knows where it is
+Its fun to see people taking pictures of us while we skate

Sherwood:

+It's bigger
+A bit better quality
+we dont have to worry as much about when skating lesons are

There is a snack stand at Sherwood but yeah i agree that Lloyd is fun but if we are having an ice skating meet up then we don't need to do much other then skate >_>

Hmmm, what else....oh, Dir En Grey concert! There are already mini-meet ups for that, but that doesn't mean you can't have a full-on group meet-up there, too.

Looks like you are al Portland area, a bit far for me to travel with gas prices like they are. (sigh)  Sounds like lots of fun though.

I am Eugene based, and a bit old for some of these events. (Only 3 more days till 45, GAHH!) but I do have anime at my place on Fridays.  Nikkiolie, I think is the closest to me, and she would still have about a 30-45 minute commute.  Anyway, thought I would throw it out there for any posters that do live in Eugene area.  More info available on the Eugene Meet thread.

If people want minigolf they should go to Glowing Greens in downtown Portland (one block away from the 2009 hotel!) because it is glow in the dark, 3D and pirate themed. We could totally reserve the party room there.

I talked to a few bowling alleys, we can reserve lanes in advance aprently which is a good pluss.

Movies, picnics and laser tag sounds pretty awesome to me. I can't ice skate or roller skate to save my life, and I'm not too good at bowling or golf either. Doesn't mean I can't try, though.

The Family Fun Center/Bullwinkle's has an awesome laser tag arena. At least they used to when I was there a few years ago-- I don't know if it ever changed or not. But laser tag may be a bit difficult for some outfits, assuming we all go in costume. Would be fun, though.

There is a place in Beaverton that is a lazer tag....place. It's only lazer tag....I think there is a few arcade games. But it is off Allen and really easy to find

We could do some sort of variation of a Secret Santa type thing... where people sign up on the forums with what cosplay they are going to be at a certain event (near christmas, probably) and someone randomly mixes up the submissions and e-mails or pms or whatevers the matches to their secret santa. The secret santa then gets a present for the person, and at the meet-up, everyone pile their presents under a tree or something and have someone dressed up like santa pass them out or something. Then, in the end, the secret santas reveal themselves! XD

bullwinkles is more of a summer place, while they do host a large veritiey of things indoors (arcade, shows, lazer tag) they have a lot more fun stuff out side :/ I'm intending to see if we can get the party room when we go there... >.>

And I have an idea for hosting the christmas party, oaks park has a large indoor place that they rent out :3 and I can ask my friend about this place she got for her birthday last year but I'm thinking if we find some one who is willin to offer up a large house that would be best >.> Cause frankly I cant put a lot of money into these things.

The thing about renting is that well lots of us are kinda poor. 

I think if we wanted a place reserved for just us say 4 hours, it'd likely cost
$300 - $600

Asuming 60 people show, it could be $5 - $10 I suppose however not being open to just whoever can show up would likely make these meetups loose their glamor.

I also like the secret santa idea, thought that'd take some organizing to see who all would want to participate and stuff.

And yeah, as far as bowling goes, I used to be on a bowling league at Valley Lanes in Beaverton. Lanes aren't bad.. though the management is really backstabbing and underhanded when it comes to their friends and employees.
