I'd Just as Soon Kiss a Wookiee!
« on: July 22, 2008, 06:17:30 pm »
Hi there!

Myself and Ayumu are running "I'd Just as Soon Kiss a Wookiee: A Star Wars Panel" at Kumoricon this year!

We had a pretty successful first run at this past Sakuracon with "Anakin, You're Breaking My Heart: A Star Wars Panel" and we hope to do even better this time around!

So what we need your help with is coming up with Star Wars related MAD LIBS!!

FOR EXAMPLE:
"Han Solo (verb) into the cantina, (adverb) eying Jabba the Hutt"

and on as long as you'd like to make it! Now, theses were wildly fun and extremely hilarious, but we were SO ill prepared for them that we didn't have any written before we got there. So! We'd like to not fail this time.

Now, although this is an 18+ panel (I think so, anyway), I would like the mad libs to stay clean! It's fun because they aren't dirty until someone decides that the verb they want to use is "licking" or the best adjective to describe Darth Vader's attitude for Boba Fett is "lustful."

You can email them to meganh7@u.washington.edu or PM them to me here! My AIM is also in my profile so if you have any questions, please feel free to ask!

All in all, PLEASE HELP! And come to our panel! There will be baked goods!
Anakin, you're breaking my heart if you don't come to "I'd Just as Soon Kiss a Wookiee: A Star Wars Panel" at Kumoricon!

Sounds like fun!

But I'm not old enough, phooey. Maybe I can smuggle myself in using one of those hidden compartments in the Millennium Falcon...

Not really related, but I just saw the Clone Wars film commercial.

Guess I get to put my hair up into the ol' cinnamon rolls after all.

Hutts are a vital parto Star Wars.
Giant evil slobbery, disgusting, VILE GANGSTER Hutts.

I guess I won't be going to your panel if you believe in a Star Wars where such abominations are canon.

I worry if Hutts are adorable.

That's like...tearing a hole in the fabric of the universe.

Sides that looks less cute and more freaky. All of them. Is that Han Solo? Where is his vest? Chibis with gun marketed at little kids? That doesn't sound good!

I mean, normally action figures with guns are great, but chibis with guns? Only good for the figure moe zoku market consumption. Not kids.

Han doesn't have a vest the whole time he's at Jabba's palace because he was frozen in carbonite without a vest ^^;;

Is that's a scene from VI, then how come there isn't any metal-bikini!Leia!? What, it was to racy for the kiddies, and yet a gun wasn't?

Now that's what I want, a set with real Hutt strangling action!

Of course it's a scene from RotJ. It's the Jabba's Palace scene and they have Leia as Boushe. They didn't release a Leia in the slave girl outfit until very recently with an R2-D2.

(1) Not only do I love Star Wars, I even have some collectible cards from the 1970s (no really).

(2) The Creation Station hosts an Anime Mad Libs event every year!
Why don't we combine efforts? Let's check the schedule....if your event is held after our event, we could generate the Mad Libs for you during it!
Er, I'll have to clear it with my panelist, but I'm sure it would work!

Oh man!! I used to have one, I think the first one from Empire, but I have no idea what I did with it!

I DO have enough extra Star Wars CCG cards that I could wallpaper my bedroom, though!

I've got part of a beyond cracked up crossover doujin (Star Wars meets LotR meets HP meets Iron Chef), and a pair of adorable fanart pictures, but they are just scans, and I'm thinking you want the official manga.

I wanted to buy it when they were selling it at OMSI bad.

They'd both have plain boiled noodles with salt, they'd just have different names.
Both names would be wonderful sounding and list ingredients they don't have.

I think that we should have a Star Wars Pants Off. You basically go around in a circle and says Star Wars Quotes but replace key words with pants. If you can't think of a quote or you replace the wrong word you are out.

Examples "The Empire has taken control of my pants!", "I sense a great disturbance in the pants.", and of course "I find your lack of pants disturbing."

I've seen MANY icons like that around the internets for years and they are so funny! I think this is a great idea! ....because I know a lot of quotes.   ;D

I can just see it now.

"Rise, Lord Pants!"
"Where's Padme's Pants?"
"You killed Padme's pants!"
"NOOOOOOOOOOO pants!!!!"

That was probably completely inaccurate, my vision of that scene always tends to cut away to a parody flash video which was even more ridiculous than the original.

I would find it highly entertaining to see some redub the 'foul stench' line as "I recognized your foul pants when I was brought on board."

Of course, somebody would have to shop some horrendous paisley/plaid pattern over Gov. Tarkin's actual pants.

Peter Cushing actually wore slippers in many of his scenes because the shiny black boots for his costume were a size too small and hurt his feet. Tarkin was so powerful that he scoffed at Imperial dress code.

To legitimately tie this SOMEHOW to Japan, I have a contest for the panel!!

It's writing Haiku about your favourite pairing (cannon or not)!

Or, a variation on the same quote...I have a pants feeling.

Haiku? Good idea! Another way would to be to somehow lure DannyChoo to the panel in his storm trooper costume...I wish.

LOL x2!

Okay here's my game entry!
(From Empire Strikes Back)
Yoda: Yes, run! Yes, a Jedi's strength flows from the Force. But beware of the dark side. Anger, fear, aggression; the dark side of the Force are they. Easily they flow, quick to join you in a fight. If once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will, as it did Obi-Wan's PANTS.
Luke: Vader... [Are] the dark side['s] PANTS stronger?
Yoda: No, no, no. Quicker, easier, more seductive.
Luke: But how am I to know the good PANTS from the bad?
Yoda: You will know... when you are calm, at peace, passive. A Jedi uses the PANTS for knowledge and defense, never for attacks.

:)

So when is this panel again? I'm seriously intent to try to find a way to make it there....

I KNOW it's on Saturday and I want to say 7:00 pm, but I could totally be picking an arbitrary time!

It's in the schedule though ^^;
Anakin, you're breaking my heart if you don't come to "I'd Just as Soon Kiss a Wookiee: A Star Wars Panel" at Kumoricon!

Easily one of my fave scenes of all time!! At least in the world of cons and maybe beyond!
GO TEAM RABID WOOKIE! Opening to trivia questions from the floor was (obviously) my favorite part :)

My teammate made me a bantha in our teddybear felting workshop! Ultimate!!

Hehehehehe, I had bought a book called The Dharma of Star Wars to cite in our Religion workshop, so be prepared for some Buddhist-tinged quotation trivia next year!!

Oh and btw, where's the pic of our winning team and our booty? (By which I mean our watermelons, decorated with, well, what Chewy would look like if he were a squid? LOL)

FYI, the Best Crossover winner in our Fanfic contest was of Metroid games and Star Wars. I think next year's panel it would be fun to challenge folks to perform mini cosplay skits of parody crossovers of Star Wars and other sci fi, fantasy, or anime!

Like what if the Bebop were sent as bounty hunters in the Star Wars universe?!

For my teammate who made me a Bantha in the Creation Station Fandom Bears workshop (and who knows, maybe for future trivia questions for next year):
