DESPERATELY SEEKING A COMIC/JAPANESE EXPERT! DESPERATELY!
« on: April 05, 2008, 02:01:53 am »
This seemed like the best place to ask so:

I'm doing my senior project on Manga translation and one requirement is that I have a mentor for my actual project piece. So now I am desperately looking for someone who is/can refer me to a translator, japanese teacher, comic artist, comic editor, some guy who spends a ridiculous amount of time around comics, etc., in the Portland/Vancouver area.

There isn't a huge commitment: know my project, check my progress every once in a while, write a short statement about it, then go to a project presentation (it's not even an hour long).

Please help me out here! If I don't get a mentor, I don't graduate, and that would be super lame. Hey, if you can give some assistance, I might just give you a free copy of my comic ^^

When you list your description, is that with a "and" or a "or"?  (Japanese teacher and/or comic artist and/or translator, etc.)

There's a girl nicknamed Tally who draws a comic called "Out of Place."  Here's a website.

She's from Portland but I don't know if she's in Portland.

Your welcome.
Like superjaz said, that's going to be a little difficult.  I won't be able to attend the con until 2009 (hopefully).

Try my Japanese teacher. She's stellar at this sort of thing, and she sponsors an anime club on campus.
