For those of you who went to Jan 12th's meeting...

What'd you think of the signs? I tried something new with with logo of the convention and I wanted to know how it took with the members that actually looked at them. >.> Comments please? :3

They were pretty good, though Mike said he printed them, so I thought he did them.

The signs were awesome. I had no difficulty following them to the meeting room, and the location was confusing to begin with. Great job!

I liked them, too.  However, we both felt that having more of them, especially ones that pointed on various directions (like the left), may have been a good idea.

Awesome. So, the logo faded into the background looked alright? I might do that with the other signs as well. Unless they tell me otherwise not to do them that way.

The one helpful thing would be to make the format for 11"X17".  Gimp had a little difficulty reducing the image down without blurring the lines a bit.

Thanks for the work though, it made getting to the meeting much easier.

When I tried to print them the first time they were something like 77"X44", but that might have been Gimp not playing nice with the printer I was spooling to.

Too bad I can't get access to the banner printer, we could have hung the poster from the crosswalk!   

Though we might think about something that big for during the con...

I just checked the size of the file, and it said 11" x 17". It must have been GIMP messing with the printer. Or it went wonky with the 300 resolution that it was at. Never know.

Well, gimp defaults new images to 72dpi (Old default X resolution?), 300/72 is 4 + 1/6, which gives you about 45 inches instead of 11.

The image looked so natural I didn't notice exactly how it did it (which means that any effect to get that was an excellent job).

One where the elevators were would have been nice.  Otherwise, they helped me find my way. (following the instructions of the guy at the front desk, I made it to the parking garage.)

The file size was fine from you, Matt. I converted it to a PNG before sending it to Mike to print, which killed any indication of its intended target size. Next time I'll save it as PDF, which is designed to be ready-to-print.

For future reference, a great way to print an enormous, high-res image file is to insert it into a printing program, like Word or Photoshop.

I could use some signs that have arrows in both directions.  I need to get them printed out in the next day or two, so if you could expidite the request I'd appriciate it.

And I'm working on your flyers Tom.  Hopefully tomorrow morning I'll get the rest printed out.  (Aiming for around 300'ish.)
