I was just wondering when that was taking place! Thank you very much for the information. I'm after that fish shaped pastry  "Taiyaki", since they did not have it during the Hawaiian festival...

Cosplay might be fun, but if I have a weapon in hand (or even my Miroku staff), I might be too tempted to go beat on Hello Kitty. ;)

I'm hoping to make it there for at least one of the days though.

Japan Festival, woot!

Some of the groups that appear at the Festival might be great to invite to our con! Anyone who wants to be the enterprising future staff person should go there and get inforamtion on them, like who to contact. If they feel like they have charisma they should tell them about our con! We would like to represent more Asian culture at our con for 2005.

Cosplay anyway!  I'm definitely going, even though I haven't started on my Yuna from FFX for next year's con yet.  I was going through Kumori-con withdrawal symptoms (especially from the Ramune -- or lack thereof), so this will be a good excuse to get together with the people who were at Kumoricon who live in the Portland area and hang out and cosplay again!   :D

I am SO there!  I'll be the one dressed as Endless Waltz version Duo Maxwell, as always!

Cloud would be insanely easy and quick to make if it was just the clothes part *lesigh* Of course there would be the sword, wig and hand to do too.

Can anyone give me a lift?  Maybe on Sunday?  I just had the brainflash of wearing my Sakura wig and hitai-ate with my yukata.  I think the pink obi and blue snowflake design would go well with the colors of the wig and forehead protector, and it would make for some cool and unconventional cosplay pics while still allowing me to blend into the cultural aspect more easily!

(Though I am bringing regular sandals in a bag to wear when my geta start to kill my feet.  Meh.)

Sadly, I won't be able to provide a lift(I'll likely have to public transit myself...).  But that idea of yours reminds me of a picture of Sakura in a kimono(or yukata...I don't know how to tell the difference...) that I thought looked really cute.  Its in Ch. 64 incase anyone is interested in seeing it.  It would be interesting to see.

that would be really cool.  Please post here if you do get something organized.  I am going to be up on Saturday, so if anyone is getting together that would be cool.  I'd love to see some con goers again.  I am totally suffering from con withdrawl... :(

Yeah, I too am suffering bad from con withdrawl ^_~ but I'll tell ya what, I'll see if I can get the get together going, eh?
If you want to possibly meet up at the Beaverton Uwajimaya for a kumoricon get together(costume or casual seeing as I'll prolly bring a back-up t-shirt and pair of cat ears ^_~) post after this with the proper info

Day Attending: Saturday/Sunday
Time Available: 11 AM-5PM

Hopefully we could get it started round say...1:30 PM? But it's really up to everyone that can attend...and their schedule.
OH! And if anyone knows a good idea for a place to meet up specifically that'd help to, I'd say maybe inside the Kinokuniya, or we could all get lunch at the Sanbi's inside Uwajimaya...but that's just my idea ^_^
Hopefully this'll work out eh?

This already sounds good.  I think that since the festival is focused around Uwayjima a meet up place would be easy to find.  I for one am up for lunch anywhere around the festival.

Anyway, to follow the form:

I am going to be up on Saturday, no later than noon and I'll be there for at least 3 hours probably more, so 12:00-3:00.  Oh, and I won't be cosplaying... :P  (except I might wear my awesome shades... )

I'm currently planning on going on Saturday, don't know what time yet though.

And no, I'm not going to wear my Miroku costume--tired of the women avoiding me. ;)

But I will be wearing one of my anime shirts...that's just normal for me whenever I go to Waji's.

I'll definitely be there on both days, from around 11am to 5pm.  I'd love to meet up with people.  But where?  That Noodle me sounds good, but I don't actually know where it is...mou...I'll be in costume, even if the Jacket doesn't survive the first day....^_^

I'll be Duo Maxwell from Endless waltz....

<---this

and if the Jacket doesn't survive, I'll just be wearing a black leather jacket without the white sleeves on Sunday.  (In home washing machines rock!)

Sorry bout my mild hiatus there peeps ^_~ I don't know if I can make it sunday, but tell me how this sounds...

I was trying to think up specific places but with all the people wandering it could get confusing...so say we meet up by the can recycle machine just inside uwajimaya(to the right through the very first automatic doors, not actually IN the store) at 1:30 on Saturday? Or both days for that matter if a good amount of people are coming Sunday...from there we could figure out a place to eat?? If anyone has a better idea for a meeting place throw it in ^_^, but if that sounds good...

- 1:30 PM on Saturday/Sunday by the Can Recycle Machine just inside and to the right of the FIRST automatic doors.

For convenience If you want my cell phone number just PM me and I'll send it on over to you and you can call me with any questions...IE: If a group was formed...where we are, blah blah...

Any questions about Uwajimaya or anything like that plz go ahead and PM me or send an e-mail

I'd give you a ride, but I'm carless myself.  I'm going to be taking the Max...getting up at six am on the weekend....(what I do for cosplay!)  Oh, and if I get my costume finished today, (I'll be up all night, might not sleep), I'll be Lenne from X-2 on one of the days...(I'd be Yuna, but I don't really have time to look for a wig, and make the Rattail....heh.  But the earrings for  Lenne are pretty easy to make, and I have long brown hair.... :)  so....I want to give my new cos a test run.  This should be fun, ne?)

Oh, and I'm all for meeting on both days.  I want to get a pics of all the people who show up on Saturday, and Sunday!  My sister will be there on sunday, and I'm dragging some of my friends who couldn't make it to Kumoricon there too.   :D

1:30 by the Can Recycle Machine inside and to the right of the first Automatic doors, right?

I went there today, and it was very cold and windy, and the occasional rain did not help.  8O But I had some cream/sweet bean filled fish pastry so I'm happy. :D Did anyone go to the rental video store?(Animenia or something like that) I forgot to go in and see if they were doing anything special...

Hey....I have not seen the Raikou episode yet. (O_O) !!!
Is it in Japanese?

Just got back as well.  I hanged out with Hikaru_Maxwell for most of the time there.  I will be there again tomorrow in my Haku costume if I can.

PS is anyone going to cosplay as well?  I know Hikaru wanted to see a Sasuke.  I like to see Flikaeris's outfit she said she would wear to there.  I just hope she can get a ride. ^_^*  Sorry, but I can't drive at all, so I can't give any rides :(.
