The Buffy Musical! And Paprika!
« on: June 12, 2007, 08:21:48 pm »
The Buffy Musical is playing at midnight at Cinema 21 near my house and we should all go. It's two nights only, June 22nd and 23rd. Who wants to come with us on Friday night, the 22nd?

Also, Paprika will be playing there at the same time, so we can cram in two movies!

Should be $8 per feature, or $7 with student ID.

Oh yeah, cash or check only!

Unfortunately, our entertainment budget has been spent...mostly spent anyway. For quite a while too... :(

But on Spamalot and Jim Gaffigan, for my birthday from Jaz!  :)

Next entertainment expenditure will probably be Harry Potter.

Yes, they are, if you want to get them in advance. www.cinema21.com

I was planning to buy mine at the door, however.

I get off work at 10pm in eugene on fridays and work again at 8 in the morning on saturdays in eugene. it's not entirely out of the question i could pull some kinda crazy road trip between the two, but i was wondering if anyone would  be into going on saturday night, as that would be way easier for me?

spike's let me rest in peace song was probably my favorite moment in all of buffydom.......though i still have a softspot for the all-powerful willow-gone-bad

Is The Buffy Musical the musical episode from Buffy or something new?  As much as I liked Willow this was past the time she was a dorkydorable nerds dream girl to when she was a trendy and hip lesbian.  But some how I have a magical ability to turn nerdy girls in real life or fiction into lesbians.

Sheesh, I totally messed that up, I misread the prices originally.
8 bucks for normal shows, 10 bucks for the midnight special.
So to take in a double feature it'll be 18 bucks each.

Jaz and Chris, I'd be willing to buy us all tickets if you guys can come up with something for dinner Friday night. Even if you don't want to see Paprika again, I'll still cover for the Buffy Musical.

That's great!
Vallie and I are going to be available all day because neither of us work that day. I'll get the tickets later then.

Here's the plan;

7:00 dinner
9:00 showing of Paprika
12:00 showing of Buffy
1:15 fall asleep on the way home and drive off a cliff

Just let us know if any of this plan doesn't work for you.

Yeah, Paprika was fun to see again, but the Buffy Singalong was awesome. If you like Buffy at all then come to tonights show. Seriously. They said it best in the intro "It's like a less smutty Rocky Horror."

They played some fan videos during the preshow and even had some karaoke at the beginning. They give you little baggies of props and the lyrics are all printed on the screen. Go see it tonight!

It was also cool seeing Jaki and Gina there. No Meg and Guspasho though, what happened to you guys?

EDIT: Meg just called me to let me know that she fell asleep. She's fine, and no, she didn't "pass out drunk" or anything. I assured her that she needs to go to tonight's show.

GAH!!!

My life is now icky, for I missed going!

Here's the long story....

I met up with Tom, Vallie, Jaz, and Chris for dinner, then we split up because I had already seen Paprika.

So, we went to the M Bar, each had a drink and then went home so I could cut Guspasho's hair. So he could see the movie. :D i think I did a decent job.

I've been teetering on sick all week (I have acid reflux), and been way to stressed for my own good. So we took a nap. I vaguely remember Gus trying to wake me around 10:30ish, and then him sleeping too. Next thing I know, there's daylight and he's on the couch playing DS....

No Buffy! Nooooooo!

Anyway, sorry to those who were looking for me. :( I'm going to try again tonight.
You'll be loved, you'll be loved, like you never have known. When memories of me will seem more like bad dreams. Just a series of blurs, like I never occurred. Someday, you will be loved.

I REALLY wanted to be there.....logistics & cash didn't work for me......maybe it will show again? Maybe I can get my friend who works at the Bijou to run it in Eugene?

Would it play well at a Con?

If it would be considered too spoilerific to write in this thread, could someone please PM me with what they give out as props and when they are used?
