Hi! A friend and I are driving down from Washington. Precisely, the Federal Way area (between Seattle and Tacoma) we are hoping to stay at a relatives house and attend the Con all three days. We are also cosplaying.

Anyone else coming from Washington?

I'm a lil' bit closer than you guys are, but unfortunately, I haven't found a place to stay yet-- but I'm only an hour and a half drive away anyways. Reporting from the Kelso/Longview area. ^_^

What are you guys cosplaying as?

I haven't secured a place to stay yet, but I have quite a few options, so I think I'll be okay. If not I'll come running wailing loudly and you'll probably hear ^.^ thanx so much for the help, tho!

ruriko: lucky lucky! we have a three hour drive. were hoping to stay in gresham, OR and my ma is making us take the train into portland. it will be an amusing time, looking like dorks.

im going as Naruto in his PJ's for one day, and Killua from "HunterxHunter" another. Then as either one for the last day. also, i have glasses so look for a glasses girl in pjs or one with a spikey hair and a green backpack.

My friend is going as Sasuke from "Naruto" all three days. it will be...... interesting. this is her first cosplay, so she picked something familiar =D

are you cosplaying?

...ok, somehow I managed to get "I may need a ride" out of this. I'm commin' from Tacoma area (Lakewood), so if you need a place to stay down there I'm probably not the person to be talking to. Sorry!

Yes ma'am, I am a lucky lil' chica! And I'm sure that if you need a place to crash, you can crash with us, pitch a tent or something in the woods by our house. ^_^

Yuppers, I'm cosplaying, but it all depends on what costumes I can get done in time. It's going to be right in the middle of my Summer term of school, so woot, it will be a smidgen of a cramp. I was meaning to get my costumes all finished during the break between terms, but there was just too much other stuff to do. Regardless, yes! I will be cosplaying as Kikyo from Inu Yasha at least, and depending on what else I get done, maybe some other things too.....but at least one thing. ^_^

You'll see me there, I'm sure, even tho there is bound to be a million freaking Kikyos.....Some things are so overplayed. Proud to be one of those who make that possible. ^_^ I'll either be a Kikyo with really big hakama *the pants* or the only one busting around with red hair. My hair is longer than my wig, so it's almost not worth the trouble of doing it. >_<

Heh, I hail from the Kent/Covington area. Though my ride is, supossedly, confirmed, it's nice to know that some others from up here are going down there. ^.^

I think my room is confirmed too... if not...errr.... the Security office is going to see a LOT of me for all three days... mainly me stealing the shower after shifts. ^.^

I (and a friend... or two...) are coming from White Salmon WA on the columbia riv, an hour or so away from the con. no place to stay yet... but we will hopefully figure it outs

Yep! me and Asuma will be heading from Whitesalmon WA. to portland (in case you dont know where that is its a town on the opposite side of hoodriver (a town in Oregon) ) lol

Thank you so much for booking a room! Not only is the second year a big "make it or break it" year for a convention, we also have the move from itty Eugene to BIG Portland to deal with. Your support means a lot.

I know you are from Washington, but your post made me think of this:

We're really hoping to find more and more Portland area people that would like to be involved and on staff for next year so it will feel more like a con for all of Oregon, and less like a Eugene Invasion! I haven't really heard of people feeling that way, but I know there are people in Portland that have wanted a con for years and we hope to get them involved and welcome them with open arms.

I'm glad you guys came to OR, because without the transportation I could not make it last year. I've gritten my teeth each time I missed the con around the country....

It's neat to see so many fellow Washingtonians, and double neat to see people coming from north of Seattle. As for my posse, we're from Marysville, which is just a few hours away from Canada. We're technically KumoriCon virgins, but with everyone constantly mentioning it at SakuraCon, we just had to see what all the fuss was about! With such a cool community within this forum, I'm sure it'll be awesome.

I heard of the town. Its like a Desert. Actualy I live there too.^_^ The cool thing about it that you are about 30min form the border of Organ, and then another 2hr to portland. Then you at k-con!!!!
It's almost like a short drive, but long!!!
