Author Topic: Pictures I took Saturday at Kcon 2006 (Read 11719 times)

Unfortunately Saturday was the only day I could make it!

This year I was determined to waste a good amount of money and take a lot of pictures. I managed to do both. However, if trends continue, I may have reason to fear 2007..

2004:
$20 spent. 2 pictures.

2005:
$60 spent. 20 pictures.

2006:
$150 spent. 100 pictures.

Folks we could be looking at a potential $450 and 300 pictures by 2007! (One can only hope..)

By the way... Were you the Scooby Doo cosplayers? "The Mystery Machine" was written on there so my friends and I were have a discussion on whether it was the Scooby Doo cosplayer's van or not.

That was your van? I thought that was the most awesome idea ever! It was so cool writing things on it! I wrote, "Shadow waz here!" along with a quick drawing on the Project Shadow symbol. <3

Did you spend all that money on disposable (sp) camera? I finally got myself a digital camera, but it did not work well in darkly lit rooms. :? Maybe I should have gotten one of those as well....

SWEET! I made it into somebody's photo album. I'm the guy with the awesome Spike and Wolfwood cosplayers. I didn't cosplay this year cause it was my first con and i didn't have time to make a costume, but just you wait until next year. i'll wow you all.

We (BakaZoku) were the Scooby Doo cosplayers. The van outside with all the writing on it wasn't any of ours, but man did we love it when we finally saw it. LOL

Hehe. Cool. I keep telling myself I'll cosplay next time.. but this time I think it's for real! Only problem is I have no idea where to begin. I think it'd be cool to cosplay as Misha from Pita-Ten. She rocks. I'll walk around going "tee hee hee" and "Hi-su!" all day long. :wink:

My stepmom worked as a seamstress for awhile and helped her adult kids make costumes in the past for Halloween. But it'd be kind of awkward, seeing as how I'm a guy and the character in question is a girl with extremely cute outfits.

I also think it'd be extremely awesome to dress up like that and coming into work and being like "HEY GUYS WHAT'S UP? YEAH? SAME HERE. JUST GETTIN' SOMETHING!"

Thanks, and no, I just used a crappy ol' digital point n' shoot. I think the trick is making sure your subject is not backlit.

Oh, and btw, Bakery Chi was a pretty close second!

Maybe if she had handed out some of those samples, she could have won over the hearts and minds of the entire con. Seriously though, I loved that costume, too. I loved all the Chi cosplayers! :lol:

however, I was sad to see the lack of Chi plushies and Chi t-shirts in the exhibitor's room.

I got your picture not-roy!

You were the one who got the giant Pocky from the Auction and I took your picture when you picked it up.

So when the Programming staff puts those pictures online (or gets them to me for me to put online) you will all see his awesome costume (at least from the waiste up.

Heee-e-e-e-e-eeeey...

I was wondering if anyone happened to get any pics of me - I was the Kukaku Shiba from Bleach (one armed fireworks chick) and Reita from Gazette (J-rocker with a thing on his nose lol)

I went through the galleries posted, but didn't find anything - I was hoping for some cause I wanna post pics on my cosplay.com member thingy, but I failed to take any pics of myself... heh heh... usual mistake...

I'll post my own soon.. however they were mostly of the BZ. I was their unofficial photographer for the con and shortly after I did my best to take pictures my camera batteries started dying on me. I was irked ~_~;;

I put all my Chi pics together. I recall snapping a pic of you down by the elevator outside the lower ballrooms. Is this the one you just found?

And by the way, I know I named a favorite Chi earlier, but it was a really close call. All were very well executed, and all were way cute.

I saw the pictures of your dress on cosplay.com before the con so I knew who you were when going through the pictures my girlfriend and her friend took and named your picture aptly

Yes, please do! I feel that since it's your costume and you put the time and effort into making it, you have far more ownership of the image than I could claim!

As for the Chii photoshoot, I don't know how these things have been planned in the past, but it seems like this forum would be a good venue to name a time and place for groups of the same character to gather for group shots. We should plan on this for next year.

Hahaha! Wow, there was even a pic of my friend cosplaying as a Sasuke fangirl! No, she really isn't btw, it was a joke. We didn't have time to get her costume ordered. Chibiroth, (cassie) let her borrow her Kairi costume though! Funny enough, that was the costume we were trying to ORDER for her! lol
