Well, some of you might remember that I was going to make a suit of armor out of Pocky Boxes. That plan has fizzled since I couldn't get the materials together in time. Next year I'll have saved up more Giant Pocky boxes and will be able to make the Samurai armor I'd hoped for.
This year I managed to get a helmet made. It is complete and finished at this point so I will be able to wear it to the convention. It used nine boxes of Pocky to complete. I could have used more boxes to completely cover the thing, but I felt that red duct tape worked well enough for the main part of the helmet. The inner helmet itself is a kids hard hat from the lava bed national monument. I had taken a full sized, real world hardhat for use but those actually sit up high off your head for safety and the helmet would've looked a lot weirder.
So I thought some of you might like to know that the armor is a bust for this year, but I will continue to work on the project. Who knows, if I save up enough boxes maybe I'll be able to build a mecha!
