Suncoast and ADV issues

The company that owns Suncoast (and Sam Goody, etc...) was recently bought out by another company, which means Suncoast's vendor agreement with ADV has been severed. They are working towards a new agreement, but as of now it is very difficult to get ADV anime and ADV distributied anime through Suncoast. There are some titles that were due in the stores in Feb. that Suncoast has yet to receive do to this issue.

You might also have noticed that they used to carry manga for a brief time. The dissappearance of manga was also a consequence of the buy-out.

Hopefully they will come to an agreement soon, but until then, you might want to get your ADV and ADV distributed titles from Fry's electronics, or online. With the Suncoast member card it was much cheaper to get anime from them, but with the delays as of late, that's not really an option.

Oh man that sucks. I have been completely cut off from Suncoast and Sam Goody's for the past few months and had no idea. This has been very informative thank you.

The Manga has returned to the Suncoast that I go to, so perhaps the agreements have been made.
My cosplay plans for 2022 (thus far): Vanir from Konosuba
My son's plans this year (thus far): Penguin Chiyo-chan from Azumanga Daioh

I get most of my anime from Best Buy.  With ADV releasing all their anime series in box sets, it's a great time to buy anime.  Much better than buying anime volume by volume.  Of course you have to wait but you save a lot.
For example, Azumanga Daioh is now boxed at $70 retail.  Six volumes for the series at twenty dollars each, $120 total.  That was a big loss for me.
