It's an actual action-thriller movie that's being made. People on the internet thought the idea of snakes on a plane was so ridiculous that it quickly turned into a hilarious underground joke. Samuel L Jackson being in the movie also helped the wackiness grow, with lines like
"We got mother****** snakes on a mother****** plane!!" (edited because this is a family-friendly board or whatever) appearing everywhere on boards and in Photoshop images.

The filmmakers of the movie caught wind of all this hype on the net and decided to re-film more of the movie to include those lines and make it even more ludicrous than before.

It comes out in August.
Here's the wikipedia entry, for more info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snakes_on_a_plane

EDIT: Curse you Neko-chan, beat me to it!! :P

It's kinda become this summer's "So stupid that you have to see it to believe it" movie.  It also became the new internet phrase for "(4 letter word) happens".

Some things in this life were never ment to be.
THough when I first heard about it I laughed and said, " ahhh another spoof."

THen I saw Samuel L Jackson on tv... answering the question of what the movie " SNAKES ON A PLANE" was about.
" Its about snakes on a  plane."

That is when I knew... that he would do anything for enough money.

I remember when I first heard it I thought it was some kind of catch phrase or perhaps someone misspelled something.  Soon I saw almost everyone posting it.  When I heard it was a movie, I thought "You've got to be kidding me.  What kind of plot could you have with snakes on a plane?  WHY would there be snakes on a plane?"  And then sadly what I thought was a joke turned out to be real.

Are you kidding... I mean there are tons of ideas that you can pull from " Snakes on a plane." I mean... you could have a time rift and a bunch of snake pliskins could show up on a plane... heading to... um... seattle... where ... .um... the original snake pliskin is being held...
Or ......
you have the two snakes... solid and liquid fight on aplane... ...
or jake the snake roberts.......doing ... um... standup...
yeah... and Samuel L Jackson could star in all of them.

Actually, to geek out for a moment here.....

You could take it to be a D&D sequel in which there is a Yuanti infestation bleeding theough the Astral Plane and the group of adventurers have to team up with some Githzer raiders (or was it githyanki?) in order to stops the Snakes on a Plane. You could also make the movie vastly different by changing the Plane upon which the snakes were infesting. Want to go religious? Have the sevents of Apep invade Mount Celestia.

If you wanted to misspell things it could be about an infestation of a farm during the great depression. The only farm in the county not to turn dustbowl because it's on a spring, but there's just one problem. Since it's the only place with crops the farm is first overrun with mice, the farmers thought that was bad but when all the snakes in the area converge on them to eat the mice. The farmer's only hope is his son's new pet, a mongoose that he got from a drifter in exchange for half a hot dog. It's Rikki Tikki Tavi 2: Snakes on a Plain! Starring Jackie Chan as Rikki, Billy Bob Thorton as the farmer's dog Rocky, and featuring Christopher Walken as the snake leader, Diamond!

Or it could be a remake of Conan the Barbarian!

@TomtheFanboy

That first idea should be called "Yuan Ti on a spell Jammer Hammership".  The main villain should be a Yuan Ti half blood Princess Priestess.  Although the Producer will probably want Gith Yankie due to all the flash and bling they wear Sam Jackson should play a Gith Zeri Psionic Master with a +5 Silver Sword and he has to use the line “it’s the Vorpal Weapon that says Bad @$$ &#*!&# *#%&^  on the handle”.  And some ware in there should be a Nerdy Lore Master with glasses

The other idea I’d call it “Little Snakes on the Prairie” and have the farmers daughters form a team of chicks in those cute Amish outfits battling an infestation of demonic snakes

How wrong I was.

I doubt he's getting paid much for this. As I understand it, he heard the working title, "Snakes On A Plane", and agreed to do the movie on the spot. They tried to change the title and when he heard about it he put his foot down. Ehh, it's in the Wikipedia entry someone linked to.

I know it comes out right before PAX and they've already declared that as the group movie this year. I plan on attending - any other K-Con goers plan on going to PAX and seeing the pre-con movie?

As long as you didn't eat them.

I am trying to think if I got one for giving him a ride to meet with the Emerald City Comics people. If so, I guess my cats got that snake too.

Cities to call, Bend/Redmond/Madras. Medford/Grants Pass/Ashland/Klamath Falls. Brookings/CoosBay/North Bend. Roseburg can go into either of the latter two categories, as it is on I-5, and on way to southern coast, and southern Oregon.

I don't have enough minutes until Friday to call them myself, sorry.
Have Fun
