Will anyone be cosplaying as an character from Ouran High School Host Club?

A friend of mine in Canada went to the Anime North convention and got pictures of a Tamaki, Haruhi and Beezlenef.

I was surprised, and now excited. The anime hasn't been out long, so it's amazing that there are cosplayers. I'm hoping that there will be at Kumori-Con as well. =3

I looove seeing all the Ouran pictures from Fanime and AN. I really hope there will be some at Kumoricon, too! Heck, even I'm considering it now. It's such a fun show <3 !

Can you post some links to your fave Host Club cosplays? Host Club is my new obsession.

Man, I cheer when Nekozawa comes. But I really wanna see someone do the twins. If any of you end up doing Host Club cosplay please make sure you make a photoshoot time and let me take lots of pictures!

I already have three new costumes for KC, but...

My entire group of friends is very serious about Host Club cosplay and we WILL do it sometime. We have most of the characters except Kyoya, but we weren't planning it until sometime after KC (Some of them may do it at yaoi-con, but I don't go there) because sadly, most of my friends are skipping out on KC and AE in favor of yaoi-con. So much for our entire group. >.>

Meanwhile, can anyone find those blue jackets they wear for any sort of affordable price?! Our Haruhi found one that looked just like it... for 325 bucks. >.>

Just kidding about the last post... my entire group of friends is cosplaying Host Club at Anime Evolution this August.

We have: Haruhi, Tamaki, Hikaru(me), Kaoru, and Hani for certain

...and probably we can talk our Canadian friend into being Nekozawa. We are going to *Host* a cool picnic or something random and fun.

So there is my answer: Ouran Koukou Host Club will be coming to a piece of Canada near you. ^_~

Oooh, a picnic! We're having a whole group Host Club cosplay at Anime Evolution two weeks before KC... unfortunately, only the Twins and Hani will be attending KC. I don't know whether we're bringing costumes or not at this point, but we probably will if they are a hit at AE. I'll keep you posted.

Turns out, I'm not sure what my third cosplay will be, so I may be cosplaying Host Club. Most likely Nekozawa, unless I can find a light-blue blazer and be Kyouya.

But don't give your hopes up. I'm still not sure on my third. :wink:

We really need a Kyouya and a Nekozawa, but those are the only two we're missing.

I really wish I could go to Anime Evolution, but unfortunately my family and I are actually on vacation at the time of the con. We'll be in the New England area. ^^; Sorry.

I dunno I would like to cosplay from Host Club, but I'm not pretty enough to be one of the guys and none of the girls look even close to my beau-ti-ful self.

So I'll just have to deal with hunting down the cosplayers instead. Or forcing my sister to be Hunny.

Or perhaps I'll be Nekozawa and my little sister can be his little sister. Oh the possibilities....

EDIT: Oh nooooo! Me and my little sister watched Host Club together and now she wants to be Honey and dress me up as Mori! What have I done, I can't do Mori O_O

DOUBLE EDIT: Omg... I just found out... AE is like... really close to where I live! And I'm totally free except for working to go to Kumori Con!

I may be able to go if I go over it with my mom, find some source of money, and get the cosplay together...

I'll keep you posted if you still need a Nekozawa for AE, I'd also be willing to trying and doing Kyoya.. but I don't know if I would make a very good one.

I'm so glad people are getting into this series, it's become my new ultra-favorite anime *sigh* I love it. My favorite characters are tamaki, hikaru, and kaoru... hopefully there's a cosplayer of one of them @ k-con.... if there's not... well, even if there's not I'll do it next year or for sakuracon xD

Yes, yes! I was just about to say that...I'd want it on the 3rd, though...cause that's when I'm cosplaying Nekozawa. I'll be other characters (Tsuzuki from Yami no Matsuei and Kio from Loveless) on other days.

Sweet effing deal. I love Nekozawa. I mean... I love everyone from that show. Its cool to see so many other Ouran cosplayers. I may be tempted to bring my Hikaru costume. (You guys will love this costume, cause it comes with a bonus Kaoru XD)

My friend Miaki and I are currently making her a Haruhi outfit. We found a perfect pattern for the jacket, and the rest can be made of found objects (slacks, tie, etc), so we should definately have it done for K-Con!

I've been interested in doing an Ouran cosplay ... but it might have to wait until next year. ^^; I don't think I can finish it in one month. x_x But i'm really excited to see other cosplay from that series! I'll probably ask to take pictures with you guys if that's okay.

Currently I'm working on a Nekozawa costume for Sakura-con but I don't have my cloak done yet and probably won't in time for Kumoricon. I do have everything else including my Beelzenef puppet!

But I do have everything I need for Kyoya so I'll probably cosplay him for a bit during Kumoricon. It would give me a chance to wear my glasses!

I can't wait to get pictures of everyone!

i have a quick question for my fellow Ouran cosplayers; have you been able to locate a blazer that is close to the shade of blue as featured in the anime?

i've obtained a light blue blazer, but i'm not quite satisfied with it since it does not match the proper shade, so i am currently trying to find a better match. if you can recommend a place or person who can provide it, please share the information so we can do our best to be very similar and represent the Ouran Host Club well! =D

also, who will be using the manga patch (purple) or the anime patch (green)??

I know of several Ouran cosplayers who have ordered their blazers from Chadwicks. The color is, I believe, called "New French Blue". Other than that I've only heard of people making theirs or finding them at brick-and-mortar stores when they happened upon them.

I already purchased a light blue blazer so I haven't ordered one from Chadwicks so I can't speak from first hand experience. I do know Chadwicks only carries up to a 14P (women's size). My original character I was/still am planning on cosplaying is Nekozawa so my blazer won't be seen as much as other characters. Hooray for the cloak!

But since I plan on coplaying Kyoya for Kumoricon I hope my shade of blue isn't too far off from everyone elses.

As for the patch, I commissioned mine and it is the manga version with the main portion being a teal color. I like it better than the orange of the anime.

We're having our blazers made, and I think we're actually using the patches that oishiidesuyo posted a link to. (I need to find the post office and pick them up... >.>) We have numbers for the the pattern and fabric we used for the blazers if anyone wants them, too.

oh yay, this blazer looks perfect! thank you very much for pointing me to it, i'll have to purchase one right away!

and now for another question! does anyone know where i can get a tie that matches the Host Club's? i've been searching high and low for some time now and haven't found anything similar to it. i don't want to resign myself to wearing just a plain black tie if i don't have to! =[

P.S. as far as the patches go, there are two auctions on eBay that are offering them at a very good price (these patches match the anime version)

Ah the tie. I just went through the tie issue myself. When I had asked around some people made theirs from scratch while others bought a black tie and added the purple ribbon. I opted for the store bought tie and purple ribbon. I attached it with a strip of Heat'n'Bond. It doesn't look like it's going to hold too well because of the tie has some texture to it so I will probably have to sew the ribbon down.

I know it's been mentioned but have we decided on a photoshoot day and time yet? I would love to get a picture with everyone in costume. I'm planning on wearing my Kyoya on the first day of the con but can easily change on the second day...third day I'm checking out of my room so I can't change costumes that day.

Suggestions for day and time for the photoshoot?

Yes!!! Hikaru-tachi has room for you! (lol, the twin, jess, and I equate to Hikaru-tachi? <3)

(There are only three people in the room right now. So if you go, then its even cheaper. I can check with Sami about how much we rented the room for.)

Not any definite suggestions... but I can pretty easily get in an out of my costumes, so anytime is fine. If anything, the only thing I'd suggest is to avoid making it during the cosplay contest.
