Mark your calendar for the Lakewood International Festival
Please come to Lakewood’s seventh annual International Festival 2006 on Saturday May 13, 2006, from 11:00a.m.-6:00p.m. at Pierce College, 9401 Farwest Drive SW in Lakewood. This free one-day multi-cultural community event is hosted by the Lakewood Sister Cities Association, and is the only family oriented community event in Lakewood which provides fun along with educational opportunities to learn about the many different cultures and heritages that make up our community.
Children, teens, adults, and seniors will be able to enjoy a variety of rich cultural heritages by tasting a variety of ethnic foods, hearing and dancing to international music, seeing traditional ethnic costumes, learning about foreign languages, arts and crafts, and much more.
There will be 30-40 multi-cultural entertainment / performances on two indoor stages. These will include Native American, Samoan, Korean, Japanese, African-American, Hispanic, Filipino, Greek, Norwegian, Swiss, German and others.
Along with the entertainment, approximately 40 arts, crafts, food, and informational booths will be displayed. The Association expects approximately 3,000 people from Lakewood, Ft. Lewis, McChord AFB, Steilacoom, Tacoma, Dupont, University Place, Pierce County and the greater Puget Sound.

There will be food dealers and even Anime, check it out this weekend!
