Sitting on the Streets of Portland
« on: May 23, 2004, 10:07:18 am »
Well, here I am, killing time until Todai's opens (about 15 minutes from now) checking on people's needs on the forums using one of the many free wireless access points in Portland.
There are many shops around Portland, but one thing to note is that nothing really opens on Sunday until after 11am, and several don't open until noon.
I hope to see some faces at Todai's in a bit.

I'm killing time here in Eugene now wishing I had gone to Todai's on Sunday. What a weird thread.

Killing time on my neighbors doorstop because my wireless connection is down for a bit, wondering what Todai's is. ^^

Todai's is a delicious Japanese buffet in downtown Portland. It's rather expensive (especially for poor college students like me) but with all you can eat sushi, seafood, and a wide variety of Japanese desserts it might be nice to visit at least once. Maybe there will be another trip to Todai's before the next general meeting in Portland...

I didn't think Todai's was all that great.  It was awfully expensive, and I eat so little... 5 or so peices of sushi and I'm happy.  I prefer places that are owned and run by Japanese families, so you get the true stuff.  But then there are the dollar sushi places where the sushi is crap, and they cook the unagi with a blow torch.  It's wonderfully cheap.
It doesn't matter whether you win or squelch, but how you play the tuba.
