Worst Children's Books in History
« on: October 19, 2011, 01:10:21 pm »
So, for my assignment in my class, I have to find and compare two children's books on children with disabilities.

One book has to be a good book to have in the classroom
And the other has to be an insanely horrible insensitive book about disabilities.

So, looking for that second book, and I found the list of the Worst Children's Books in History.

Just to name a few, we have :

I Wish Daddy didnt Drink so Much
by Judith Vigna

Who Cares about Disabled People?
by Pam Adams

Sometimes Mommy Gets Angry
by Bebe Moore Campbell

Alfie's Home
by Richard A. Cohen

*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*

So this got me thinking, what books do you think are the worst books for children?
You can include young adult books too, just no adult books.

And this thread is to be funny and give a laugh to people.
Please do not include your own personal beliefs on the following :
Color, race, sexual choice, religion, ect.

And please, lets keep this clean. I dont want @random to have to use his Mod voice.

Easy: Struwwelpeter. In English, it means Shaggy-Peter.

That book is nightmare fuel.

It's only a photoshopped joke, but my favorite has been around for a little while: http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/vyYGjEtxNCD-uV08sc9SuA
This is my serious voice. Otherwise, I'm just another anime fan, not a moderator.

I don't remember the name of it, but there was a book that was written to teach kids about why airport security does invasive inspections and what will occur.

Also, the Harry Potter series. :D Sorry, but the first book bored me too much to finish it.  Grammatically amazing, though, I'll give it that...
My cosplay plans for 2022 (thus far): Vanir from Konosuba
My son's plans this year (thus far): Penguin Chiyo-chan from Azumanga Daioh

Second book: That Shin Chan book that we talked about in another thread. Great example of mental retardation and perhaps inbreeding. **still has nightmares about the first time seeing the show on adult swim.**

Agreed though... not for kids.

**edit** wow... I think my IQ went down remembering that show...
