Cosplaying Crona this year was insanely fun! I eventually want to do Patty, once my friend wants to work on Liz. :3 Then we'll need to borrow/find a Kid. I may bring my Crona cosplay back next year though, I just want to do some minor improvements first. @3@

I just realized that for my Excalibur cosplay, I'll have to take my head off just to walk around, I don't want to have a buddy to lead me. So if you see Excalibur headless, don't cheer/cry for his death. It's so I can see .__.

I'd say go with navy. Maybe you could print out some pictures of her outfit and take them with you to match the colors when you go to buy fabric? That's what I always do.

ok two questions

First I am going to do maka from Soul eater for contacts should I get one that is all green no black in it. Or green with small black pupil center?

Two I have NEVER made any props before any hints or tips on materiels to use to make Maka's scythe? Anything will help thanks in advance.

You'll want pupils. There are only a few cosplays that you can get away with having no pupil, and SE isn't one of them. So I'd stick with a natural green.

As for props, I'll let someone who has actually made the scythe talk about it.

For contacts you should probably go for the pure green, since that's how her eyes are under normal circumstances.

As far as the scythe, I can help with tips since props, specifically weaponry, are my specialty. You're going to want to make sure that it is weighted, cause otherwise it'll throw you off when you move it around. You also want to avoid too heavy of materials, so you'll want either an extremely light wood(avoid particle board though) or craft foam for the blade part. For the pole, a wooden pole should do just fine or even a light metal.

However I would really recommend you commission someone to make it instead since you've never made anything. Scythes are trickier to make than other weapons because of the balance issue along with stability.

When I made my Tsubaki cosplay I just found a nice pair of white boots and painted them, wasn't too hard.

Have you thought of using plaster cast to make your face then use wires and more plaster to make the odd shape of Excaliburs face? If you go to the year round halloween shop in Beaverton you can buy a top hat for 20$ and paint it white.

So, you've probably gotten past this already, but if not, Burda pattern number 7227 has poofy shorts. They're not super poofy, but I'm sure the pattern can be adapted for a bit more poof.

So I can stop getting obsessed with characters.
And wanting to cosplay them.

For Kid, I have a wig that I already painted, it's just a bit too short(leftover wig) so I might, if I have enough money, get a new one to paint. I need a new blaser for him also. I actually have to redo everything I already have, right now this is just mall-cosplay worthy, I wouldn't take this to Con until I get better stuff for it. XD

Okay, so this year I'm definitely doing Kid, I bought a wig(though the wrong style DtK wig came... -_-) and need to finished sewing the squares(or perhaps I'll just velcro them) to the blaser I got. I already made the pistols, so that's set. ^^
I'll probably due Crona next year.
And my younger sis is going to try to get a Maka cosplay together. She may or may not do Patty. I wanted my older sis to do Liz, so I could have both my Liz and Patty, but she doesn't want to. DX We need more Lizs!
