I don't currently have a job that's giving me new funding

Find a job that does? o.O

EDIT: Nearby?

*GASP* No way.
Not to sound rude, but gee. Dirka dir. Aka, that sounds like pretty unnecessary obvious advice that I am fully aware of. Get a job, get money. Not rocket science, not needed to point out. :P

Ahahaha! <3

*nukes comment due to rocket science history...*

RAwR! o_O

You'd be really surprised how many people I know DON'T get this concept at all. The worst part is some of them grew up with me and more than a few of them are now grad students. They don't have good work ethic, their social environments are more toxic than my home and they usually aren't smart enough to open a bank account. I grew up with people that attract lots of stupid. Halp me K! Halp! :3

*poke* *poke* *bounce*...

No really, they do. The last guy looks and dresses like some weird combination of Jeremy Shockey and epic beardman(only younger). He's very intelligent too. You would expect him to be the writer of a super virus that deletes all the porn on the Internet or something as ridiculous. O_o His last work experience was at a book store in the local community college. Less than an hour after he was hired the owner came by and said "we're broke now. You're the last guy we hired so now you're fired. Bye." Anyway, I'm sure you don't deal with the kind of stupid that exists here and can get a decent labor job. Salem and Eugene are less crazy than Portland but has a much wider range of options available to you than I do. Even I could find you something with little effort.

Anyway right now I'm really frustrated with the time that I have available between work without anything to do. I really want to work on draft patterns but I don't have anything tangible yet. I'm really tempted to just go out to Walmart and buy a few yards of really cheap fabric to start experimenting with designs but I promised two others I wouldn't spend on anything unnecessary until the end of the month. :-\

Magi: What are you doing?
Me: I'm putting a stop to this. Now.
Magi: You'll die.
Me: I don't believe that.

I was taught at an early age that if you want something you work for it. I want cosplay, I'll work for it. It's that simple. I don't see how anybody can be stupid enough to not get that if you want things, you need to work and make money to get them.

Most of the ones I knew like that are(still) rotten little girls. The guys have it the worst of all though. They've been pushed around so much that they don't voice themselves in any sort of matter from fear of retaliation. I was once like that until I dropped a ton of fear and worry but it managed to cause me so many problems on a level you would never believe. The few guys I know that are like this somehow managed to squeak by but they're doomed.

What I tend to do while in the meantime, though, is a lot like what you said. I look at costumes on CosCom, and really think about what I want to do, how to do it, and just take in as much cosplay-related stuff as possible. That tends to satisfy the hunger, if only a little bit.

Okay, I take back everything I just said. I'm itching to work on cosplay, but have absolutely nothing I can do right now, and researching is just not doing it for me right now. I'm going nuts, lol.

I have money but it has to go to bills, so I can't buy supplies right now. All I can really do is work out and work on fitting my characters' physiques, but even that isn't really doing it for me. I'm losing my miiiiiind.  :o

Yeah, I'm in that boat. No time to work on anything at the moment with school going on. But two more weeks, and I'll be done. :) Well...not really. Still taking a couple classes and working over the summer, but I should have more time, space, and money to spend at that point, making working on them a lot more plausible. In the meantime I've made lists and budgets and otherwise planned what I can. I can't wait to start putting it all together!

Right now it's my "carrot on a stick". If I can get through dead week and finals without failing (or dying), I got projects to look forward to. ;D

Right now I need to use a friends scroll saw and I can't do it until Sunday.  It's killing me cause it's the only thing holding up my progress on my cross punisher.   :-\
