Author Topic: The Sailor Moon PHOTOSHOOT thread (Read 8713 times)

Since I didn't want to spam everyone at the Sailor Moon thread with planing the photoshoot I made this.
We were thinking of having the photoshoot after the Sailor Panel and maybe the sailor Moon RPG session on day 2, so we aren't sure of the time when that shall be.
I need help planing how the photoshoot is going to run,
I want to start with a giant group, maybe do a few different SM poses and the famous "make a silly face"
Then maybe move on to the Inner scouts.
and go on from there.
So tell me what groups do you want!

honestly i think the photo shoot should be before the rpg. while it does sound fun i dought EVERYONE will wanna wait till the rpg is over

I don't think she'll have as restrictive of a schedule as I will. I have three panels that I'll be running. One of them will be an evening/late evening panel, since the contents will be on the adult level. If I remember correctly, one of the other two has been requested to be on Saturday afternoon. I should also be getting a follow-up e-mail soon regarding the approval of my panels and their (possible) times. It's still rather early for these things to be solidified, ya know.

I am going up to Vancouver to find some some good Phootshoot locations tomorrow, but it would be great if someone already knows a great place

I have yet to hear back from the programming staff, but I had requested that the RPG take place in the evening on day 1 or day 2. Since I also have a skit in the cosplay contest, I want to get that out of the way first, then focus my attention on the game session.

If you see this soon enough, I have a few recommendations...

Officer's Row has a lot of places that could work, such as next to some cannons or a house named after Pres. Grant.
There's the Academy, an old military building that, as far as I know, is now used as a rental hall for weddings and such.
There's a couple of places between the Red Lion and Joe's Crab Shack (just East from Red Lion) that I think would make good shoot areas).
Nearby the park is an entire block that is just a gravel parking lot; it's rarely used.
If the shoot is during Saturday or Sunday, perhaps having it at or around the Farmer's Market; it's along the West side of the Park.
Clark College would be an amazing place! It's pretty much a giant park! (Literally; it is classified to be on park grounds).
Both hotels have areas on their properties that can work, too.
There's a couple of smaller park-like areas next to the West Coast Bank building (I'd recommend the one to the East, mainly because the ground itself looks healthier).

...and I'm still waiting for confirmation on when my panels will be, and whether or not I'll even be going as Neptune.

(I need to get ahold of my "tailor;" if she can't do it, I talked with someone today about possibly doing it instead, but I still need the shoes and wig.

Alright! The Dir. of Prog. said that she's going over the panels and will be starting to work on the first draft of the schedule on Monday. She's saying that the first draft ought to be done and delivered to all panelists in a couple of weeks.

It'll be at the Hilton. Oh, on a side note, hopefully we won't be too long, since I'll also be doing a cosplay skit. It looks like there's two hours in between, but I'd like to be done within the first hour so that I can get to the contest site ASAP.

@Alana: At the Hetalia Shoot last year they timed each group.
I should brainstorm some groups right now...

Timing might be good if we end up with a ton of people, but if it's just the people from the forums who show up, it might be a bit restrictive. I guess we won't really know how it's going to work out until we're there, though.

For groups, I was thinking start out with just everyone, and then break it down into progressively smaller - Inner and Outer Senshi, then couples, then single shots. Something like that. I dunno, depends on the number of people taking pictures though.

In terms of an eatery, assuming that money isn't an issue, I'd like to recommend Jerusalem Cafe or Thai Orchid.

As for a photoshoot location, perhaps we could migrate down to the waterfront park just East of the Red Lion. There's a pair of restaurants in between, but the park is quite lovely.

Maybe I missed it but at what time is the Sailor Moon Panel? And what time is the Photoshoot?

I skimmed through the postings and I really did not see a time. (Is there a place where would I even look for it outside of this forum?)

My friend (in whom I posted for on the Sailor Moon cosplay sometime ago) Will be there Sunday. What does he need to know to meet up with all of you? (He is going as Tuxedo Mask.)

The panel time and location will be in the schedule, and at the end of the panel Xan and I will make sure to let everyone know where we're meeting for the photoshoot, so if your friend shows up for the panel (or even just the end of it) he can just follow us to the Hilton lobby, which is where we're meeting. Once we've got everyone gathered there, we'll head out to take pictures at whatever site we end up choosing.

I am glad the "Moonies" are so helpful. ..

Mostly because my Adorable Small Child has decided next year (2012) WE are going to Kumoricon together and she will be Chibiusa and I HAVE to be Sailor Moon [since I am her mommy so it is only right that I play Chibiusa's mom too]. . .

Though, it will be my first year ever making a cosplay. . . ever

So. . . I may need help but I will get it done. . . . I hope. lol

What makes all this more interesting is SHE approached ME about it. She was like "Mommy! I want to be Rini from Sailor Moon in her "fight bad guys" outfit! You need to grow your hair out too so you can be Sailor Moon. We have to go TOGETHER!"

So, my goal for Kumoricon 2012: make my small childs wish of being Chibiusa come true and for her to come to her FIRST CONVENTION! *claps*
(don't even get me started on all the other cosplays she has asked me to do. . . I have my work cut out for me ~.~)

Would your daughter be bothered by a guy dressed up as a sailor scout? If not, I will reconsider whether or not I'll go as Neptune again in '12.

It'd be fine. At this point, I don't have anything planned for KCon '12, only Sakuracon '12. I was just thinking about retiring Neptune after Sak.
