Suicide.
I'm not just saying this because I can't imagine trying to cope with the horror of watching everything I love either die, become zombified or disappear due to the lack of infrastructure. I'm saying this because I don't think I could cope with the stresses of trying to build a human society from a bunch of PTSD-addled survivors, assuming the threat is ever neutralized/contained.
All the lazies would be gone tho!
So far pros for outliving the zombie apocalypse are:
All the lazies are gone
Cons:
Everyone has PTSD
No toilet paper
No widely-available electricity
(or sewage)
(or running water)
(or fuel)
No nuclear containment
No guarantee of anyone with the engineering background needed to rebuild is still around
Everyone you know probably died
Crop devastation=food shortages
Most survivors probably fringe survival nuts/separatist groups
Who let's not forget are often hella prejudiced against at least one class of people
Let's not pretend like we'll be getting over the devastation of everything we've ever loved anytime soon.
Have I thought about this too much? Yes.
Blame the twice-weekly World War Z discussions I sat through during my senior year of high school.
