That's great, and a very healthy amount of weight to lose in that time frame. ^_^  They say it's unhealthy to lose much more than 2lbs a week, so you're right on target.  Keep it up!

=P I'm a short 5' 3" Asian girl, weigh 107 lbs. I think what I want to do is put on more muscle mass since I'm cosplaying 2 guys this year. I don't really have a weight goal, because that's not really what my goal is :3 It'd just probably be good to not look like a wimpy shota. /shot

So what I'm doing is I'm joining the summer lacrosse program at my school. I did it last year, and with all the shooting, running, etc. it's a really active sport ^^ I kind of lost some of the muscle with the lack of activity in winter tho'

@Seahasha: LOL I want to try that now XDDD caramelldansening for just the duration of the 2min. 30 sec. of just the song itself is pretty tiring~

One of my costumes has short shorts and that has always been a weakness of mine. My thighs are very fit due to soccer but up at the top my inner thighs are flabby so if I wear short shorts its kinda like a muffin top so I want to make sure they look good in the shorts. Plus it would be nice if my thighs wouldn't touch when I am standing, my jeans would last longer too x.x

Today my brother was talking about how he wants to get an Under Armor shirt for when he works out.  I mentioned that I have one a friend gave to me.  He asked me why I never wear it, and told me to try it on.  I did . . and holy crap I looked good in it.  Phew boy.  xD  But, pictures weren't coming out too well. ;-;

@Reppy: Underarmor is godly.... If I was a man I would wear it all the time idgaf if it would look good on me or not, I just think the fabric is super comfy!

I really need to get back to the gym.... I lost the few extra lbs I gained recently and dropped from 136 back to 132 (which falls within my normal weight range of 127-133lbs.) Without a car though it's hard to get to the gym, which sucks because I was really starting to get into Zumba. Once the qweather gets nicer I'm going to start playinf some tennis and trying to ride my bike again.

Honestly I've lost some of my motivation to workout since I'm no longer doing my Terra (Teen Titans) cosplay which was something that I needed to do some serious aslimming down for.... Still it would be nice to look good when it comes time for swimming and such this Summer.

Speaking of TT cosplay, I'm going to be doing Raven which means OH GOD WORK OUT SO MUCH.

I keep fluctuating between "if I had to wear this costume right now I'd look okay" and "I'M SO FAT WHY AM I SO FAT BAWWWWW"

Right now here's my exercise plan:
30 min on the elliptical (I'm doing resistance level 1 this week, then level 2 next week, and so on)
20 sit ups
20 reverse sit ups
10 push ups (going to slowly increase this number as I get better)
20 arm curls w/ hand weights
20 lifts w/ hand weights over my back

I'm just starting to notice a bit of muscle growing in my arms, but I'm really wanting my legs to look better, especially my thighs. I'm also trying to flatten my stomach.

For breakfast I've been eating a serving of this yummy strawberry oatmeal about 30 minutes before working out. Last week I tried working out before eating breakfast and I seriously thought I was going to pass out.
Current Kcon Plans:
-Ringo Oginome
-Anarchy Stocking
-Roxy Richter

Here are some good exercises for toning up legs / glutes:

Wideout drops
Reverse lunge
Dumbbell lunge
Split squat
Goblet squats (also an article here).

Stomach:
Planks
Side planks
Single leg plank
Triceps extension plank  (this will also work your arms/shoulders)

OK scratch that. The part of the shorts I was worries about (the thighs) is not the problem. I got the shorts today and my thighs and butt look really good in them. The new problem is my love handles. The shorts are a little tighter than they said they were so I imagine if I could just lose an inch on my hips/love handles I will be fine. The good news is that even if I don't lose an inch I'm not too worried. The costume comes with a belt and the shorts don't have belt loops so I can put the belt above the shorts to hide my muffin top for the most part 8D

The most painful workout schedule ever:

Monday & Thursday
Upperbody

10-20 Pushups
20 Reg. Crunches
10-20 Bench Dips
20 Reverse Crunches
10 Pullups
20 Vertical Leg Crunch
Stretch Abs/Loweback

Cardio 20-30 min
(Run, bike, walk, swim)

Tuesday & Friday
Legs and Love Handles
(Repeat 4-5 times)

5 min Walk, bike or jog
Stretch legs
20 Squats
10 Lunges
25 Left Crunches
25 Right Crunches
10 Hip rollers (per side)
Stretch Abs/Lowerback

5 min Cooldown/ Stretch
(Walk, bike)

Wednesday & Saturday
Long Cardio
45-60 min

Sadists and Masochists love this one. Needless to say I never do this schedule.  But always have the good intentions to do it.   ;D

Actually, that looks similar to my current workout.

Monday
6 minutes, 30 seconds jump rope

16 split jacks, 8 squat thrusts (repeat 5 times with no rest)

Bent over rows, push press, front squat, single let plank  (20s rest, 30lb dumbbells, 8 reps max; repeat entire sequence 6 times)

Squat thrust/core row/push press combo (20 reps, 4 sets . . I usually get about ~8-10 reps from each set)

Stretching

Tuesday
6 minutes, 30 seconds jump rope

16 jumping jacks, 8 squat thrusts w/ jump, 16 mountain climbers (repeat 4 times with no rest)

13 wideout drops, 13 judo pushups, 12 wideout drops, 12 judo pushups . . repeat until you reach 1 and then you're finished.  No rest between exercises.

10 minutes sprint/walk, 30s sprint, 30s walk

. . . well, Thursday and Saturday look more or less the same, except Thursday has different exercises with the dumbbells and Saturday you count up to 13 instead of countdown to 1.

Needless to say, it kicks my butt and I'm literally dripping sweat off my face when  do it.  I love it.

(I also play full court basketball on Thursdays at night.)

Does that make me a masochist or a sadist?

Goal: I want to be a little more toned, I'm fairly thin my waist is about 27" and I got my belly button pierced in feburary so I cant wait till August when I can start swimming again, I will be at the pool EVERY DAY! I miss swimming so much. I have a lil pouch on my belly that refuses  to leave.

Black~Rose, maybe adding coconut oil to your diet may help?  ^^

http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2011/06/22/magical-fat-that-increases-good-cholesterol-and-lowers-abdominal-obesity-in-women.aspx

Interesting article.  I will give it a go and see how it turns out.  I can't seem to get rid of this darn gut.  Just any old coconut oil from the baking isle or is there a specific kind (like at GNC)?

The kind I buy is extra virgin organic coconut oil.  I get it from Fred Meyer in their nutrition section.  It costs around $11.99 for a 16 oz container.  I've seen it go on sale for around $8.99 or less.

Note: it will either be semi-hard/flaky or soft, depending on the temperature of where you store it.  So don't be surprised if its consistency changes day-to-day.

Also, it tastes really good if you use it to cook your eggs.  ;D  But otherwise, its mostly tasteless. . which is kind of sad because I *love* coconut.  (I used to sneak handfuls of the shredded coconut used for cooking out of my mom's baking cupboard.)  xD

SO I HAVE A BIT OF A PROBLEM.

I am in Cheerleading, so while we do a lot of running, and conditioning, there is also muscle building, and as we all know, muscle weighs more then fat.

I know that I have a good amount of arm muscle (not noticable unless I flex, thankfully~) and leg muscle and whatnot, but knowing that I do have all this mucle, I'm having a hard time knowing whether my weight is good or not.

I'm 5'7" and 130lbs, but I'd like to get down to 120lbs before the end of summer.

tl;dr how do I lose weight, while still gaining muscle? Is it possible, since muscle weighs more then fat?

Your 5'7" ?? 130 lbs is pretty small for someone 5'7" If I were to weight 130 I would worry a little because I'm short. But since its most likely muscle you are totally fine where you are. Sometimes electronic scales will tell you your fat % if you really want to know.

I have been doing zumba on the wii for a while haha I will continue this until I can swim again. HEAL BELLY BUTTON HEAL!!!!

Keep doing what you are doing and you should be fine. Also make sure you eat well. your weight really doesn't matter. What matters is inches on your body so take measurements of you chest, waist, hips, around the thighs and I like to take it around my belly. Take a guy that weighs 200lbs and is 5'9'' or so. If he mainly has muscle it is going to look a lot different at 200 lbs than if he mainly had fat. No one cares that he is 200 lbs because he looks like he is thin and healthy.

Buy some fat calipers or find someone that has some to find a very strong estimate at your BF%.

I figure I would ask but in terms of ordering a cosplay. Is it a good idea to go with adding about an inch and a half to the waist for breathing room? Or will it be too much and look baggy? I'm a 27" waist and I ordered something to be in a 28.5" inch waist. Possibly a self conscious thing but wondering if that was a good way to go from anyone else's experience?

I would say an inch and a half isn't that big of a deal, worst case you can take it in (its easy, even I can do it :P )

I did 45 minutes on the elliptical today and 600 squats in 30 minutes. I think it is time for bed now. I also started counting my calories and I was good until I got off work and ate a bunch of crap (hence the squats)

Have you been taking measurements to see if they have actually grown? ^^;  What does your diet look like?  Make a log from an entire day, writing down exactly what you ate and when you ate it.

I wish I was 110 lbs. D;

I lost 4 lbs by playing Just Dance 2. It's a wonderful workout and I also do varieties of sit-ups, some push-ups, palates, and some strength training workout. I am currently 121 lbs. I also watch what I eat and also try not to snack so much as well.

My next workout is to do jump ropes and this ball technique workout my brother demonstrated for me. He said it helps get rid of love handles and can tone your abs as well. :O

Jump rope is sooo awesome.  I currently do about 7 minutes of jump roping before my workout.

Now complaint time:  I wish I was losing fat faster.  D:  If anyone has seen the workouts I do, it's definitely not a lack of intensity.  Or frequency, because I haven't missed a workout in 9 weeks.  I go 4 times a week in the morning.  And I eat pretty dang healthy.  90% of my meals are very healthy.  The other 5% are good, but not great.  And the other 5% comprises my cheat meals I have on Saturday.  ^^ I think a bit part of it is that since I don't work in a produce department, I'm not on my feet all day long, lifting 40lb boxes and stuff when I load up carts.  ^^  Sitting down all day is a KILLER to weight loss.  But I have to, because I work in IT and program and set up computarz all day.  I'm seriously contemplating getting a standup desk.  ^^

I have noticed a lot of muscle development, and I am generally leaner.  I guess I'm just being impatient and want to be all shmexy and ripped already.  D:

I don't think you should aspire to be 110 X_X my weight fluctuates between 110 and 113 and I'm pretty sure its because my eating habits aren't all that healthy. I don't eat enough calories a lot of days. On days that I don't excersize I should be getting at least 1800 Calories and I usually get about 1500 sometimes  I get less than that. I have some issues with food x_x  And although I weigh 110 its not in muscle and I do have kinda a fatty stomach. Hence why I started working out with weights, I need muscle and I need to make sure I EAT!! Healthy foods too.

I started doing this SELF Magazine Bikini ready workout thing yesterday with weights and man i'm sore X_X I'm gonna do it again tomorrow and starting next week the days that I don't do this workout I'm going to try and do some aerobic workout like zumba or something... But like I said as soon as August rolls around there wont be a day I'm not going to the pool haha.

I did a good workout today. I have been eating really well for the past week. I've eaten right around 2,000 calories or less a day. I'm going to keep it up and hopefully I will lose some weight.

I got a great day of meals planned out.

Breakfast:
three egg whites scrambled
oatmeal

Lunch:
pb&J burrito
oatmeal
4 small cookies

Dinner:
breaded tilapia
and some side (need to figure that out still)

So far the whole day I am just at 1050 calories. That leaves plenty of room for snacks.

FFFFF.... So I finally got a new bathing suit and I'm realizing how badly I need to get into shape. Been doing some Zumba again, and will do random stretches and plank stands/crunches throughout the day.

Still fluctuating between 127-133lbs as per usual, but I really wish my thighs and stomach would slim down some more. I threw my swimsuit on real quick to show my friend while chatting on Skype, and decided to snap a picture to give myself an idea of my current size, and even there I can see that my thighs/hips are still pretty dang wide. My friend said that they look slimmer, but I don't see it.... I guess it's possible I'm just being overly critical though. =/

I didn't get to finish my workout today.  I had to cut part of it short, then move on to the next section.  Kind of a bummer.  D:

Anyone ever try a Tabata workout?  I came across this one just a little bit ago.  Doesn't require any weights, and it only takes you 4 minutes.  But I guarantee it will kick your butt. xD

Its good that you took a picture. You aren't being overly critical the changes you get will be very gradual so you won't notice them day to day. Say you grow half an inch a day. You won't notice it but after a month you look back and you will see it.

Anyway I'm working out now. I had 1700calories today and burned 2300 :D

Just got done from playing full court basketball for about an hour and a half.  Felt good.  Although after the 3rd game . . not sure if I tweaked something under my left rib cage . . or if I took an elbow . . or if it was just from breathing so hard . . but it was starting to hurt, becoming stiff, and it was difficult to breathe/catch my breath at times.

Besides that though, felt great.  I love that feeling after you've thoroughly kicked your own butt at something.   :D
